Somehow I missed this thread, but reading it, I can only say one thing: "Life" ;)

Congrats overall.

Congratulations Marco!

I've been with my GF for 11 years now, waiting for everything to line up to take the step you're about to.

She started deathly afraid of my T's as well. She would stand a few feet away whenever I did feedings and rehousing and would shriek and run off if any T moved too quickly.

She's highly involved with any shopping decisions, supply runs, or even activities such as mixing substrate or setting up enclosures, but she is afraid of the creepy crawly spiders.

We made a big step forward this summer when I had an extended business trip, she oversaw the maintenance on my collection and grew to like some of the calmer, more colorful species.

I can thank the high maintenance husbandry routine and my paranoia of T. Seladonia dehydrating in breaking the ice for my GF. She hasn't yet come around and gotten her own, but she's warmed up to the Avics.

She's still afraid of the OBT and Earth Tiger. Reasonably so.
Tell me why those are the two I just love wholeheartedly (and SWORE I would never get). If you told me I would have not one but three of each I would call you insane. I would say no old worlds here. Then I got 2 old worlds in a rescue/ free to good home haul and I was just going to “keep it until I could find them homes”. But I’ve fallen into the defensive old worlds and I love.

Congrats!
you could offer to keep in one room with a flap at the bottom to prevent escapees, and to help ease their mind until they feel safe and secure with them in their space. I put mine in the storage room for a guest and found that my t’s are much happier away from prying eyes anyways. I have family that won’t come in my house anymore and I’m ok with that (😅 and prefer it honestly).
It will probably take some adjusting. The first sling I called mine changed everything for me personally. Maybe offer to buy her one that was just hers and she could help you take care of it. Or you could help her take care of it. And even if the love never grows hopefully the fear goes away.

Yeah, my girl has a "no centipede" rule right now but we'll work on that lol
This one is definitely a keeper! Allowed me to get a centipede! She even defended me from a relative who said my pets are disgusting.
My new S. dehaani pictured and more coming soon lol

Already a slippery slope she "allowed" you did she 😳.... I think you mean she supported you whole heartedly in getting a centipede 😁
Am only playing congrats on picking the right one..... that applies to both centipede and Missus 😉

Still think you should let her name them, will help her bond 😊
