So I've always said fang is a temp name until i figure out if fang is a he or a she.

So far i have these names

Male: peter, aragog, cid, pendulum.

Female: beatrix, legs, spinderella,

Im interested to know what other names people have used for their spiders and the reason behind it also if you have any suggestions for me feel free to share 🙏

I'm a very creative person, so I named my first tarantula Spidey. (I was pretty young when I named her though. It was mainly my parents caring for it at that point)

Oh cool what T was it?
If I remember correctly it was an A. geniculata. She passed away due to a bad molt after a few years though.

My second tarantula was bought a while later, and it was a Poecilotheria regalis. Not a great 2nd T, I know. I named her Charlotte, after the spider from Charlotte's Web.

Im sorry to hear about your 1st T passing away from a bad molt that must have been so sad especially when like you say you were very young at the time 😥

And Charlotte is a great name actually

How many Ts do you have? Have u got to 7 yet? Call the 7th one bond or james 🤣
Good idea, but number 007 is a Cyaneopubescens... I should change the number to a pulchra, this would fit better.
OK, the only spider I own with a "real" name is number 025. He ist called "Skinny Norris" (after the arch enemy of the three investigators).

I don't know why, but when I saw him the first time I had this name in my head....

Haha. Zebra spiders are adorable. Ive found them before.
They are so cute aren't they 😁 this is gonna sound so mean but i love making them jump around when I see them by moving my finger toward them slowly its super cute.
My GF had never seen one jump until i showed her last year she was so amazed bless her and then screamed when it jumped towards her 🤣🤣🤣

Mine right now are (I name based on just...my own standards and impulses, I guess. Sometimes, if they're bought unsexed, it we get some seemingly-mismatched names, but I figure tarantulas aren't too fussed with gender norms, so it's whatever!):

Females: Dusty (A. chalcodes), Medea (L. parahybana), Safira (P. sazimai)
Males: Idalia (N. carapoensis - was initially unsexed but is now suspected male)
Unsexed Juvies (I'd love to sex some of them but I'm waiting on ANYONE to moult or give me at least a good ventral shot): Apollo (A. ezendami), Aruna (H. himalayana), Bela (B. hamorii), Morticia (B. emilia), Svetlana (G. pulchra)
Slings: Baal (Pamphobeteus sp. "platyomma"), Callisto (P. tigrinawesseli), Faolán (T. albopilosum), Percival (H. pulchripes), Sargon (C. marshalli), Thresher (C. darlingi), Tlāloc (T. vagans), Ursula (H. overdijki), Ziggy Stardust (P. gigas)

And there's The Institute, which is a small M. balfouri communal currently containing Jon, Elias, Tim, Sasha, Basira, and Martin who are all unsexed - in theory if I got hold of a moult from Elias, I might be able to sex it, as he MIGHT be big enough, but I'm not holding my breath.
