This is my P.Regius - she’s currently hidden away for a moult so I’ve only seen the odd glimpse of a leg for the past week or so.

I have a White Bahamas and an Otiosus due to arrive at the end of the month as well as my first praying mantis which I’m looking forward to.

it's kind of a tragedy. she laid some egg's unfortunately they were infertile. so I removed them and I put her with a male and the moment she went in the male ate her :( R.I.P. But it sorta happens in the wild

What species? That’s disappointing, I’m sorry for your loss.

Nicole,

Research the Phid species as much you can.
From my experience getting a sling for your 1st Phid takes a bit more experience.
My suggestion is get a juvie for your 1st Phid.

I went in dry on a single L2 sling (basically fresh out of dispersing from the sac), with no experience, and it worked out. I did a lot of research to make sure she was properly cared for, though. If possible, try to find a local shop that is selling slings, and ask them if they have any that have confirmed successful feedings, less likely to take home one that will fail to thrive that way. I only got one on my first try, and it worked out well because it wound up being a female, but in hindsight I'd definitely get 3-4 slings at a time, if you want good odds on getting a healthy female.

Pic is of mine just after 5th instar molt. She just finished 6th instar molt yesterday but hasn't quite come out to explore yet, so no good pictures of her new patterns yet.
