Wow mass.. this is all I can really say... Looks more beautiful then a P.metallica..P. ornata female
Could you explain how you were able to make a guess at the sex of my 4 ornatas? They all look the same to me. I have read t his thread so I would appreciate a quote or just a description... I want to be able to see what you are seeing. How confident are you in your predictions? Thanks,
Kenzie
With P. ornata it's not a folio sexing it's carapace sexing. Apparently (from a fairly knowledgable source) P. ornata males never develop the crisp clear marking across the carapace. Thus any with the crisp starburst pattern are automatically female. If I may, the assumption was made based on the post on the first page of this thread re: sexing by the folio's of pokies--May it be known-- there are serious limitations but this method can often work reliably as well to the trained eye or a breeder with a population for comparison. They may yet be too small to tell though. Good Luck!
Folio sexing with ornata is one of the easier......With P. ornata it's not a folio sexing it's carapace sexing.
