What a tremendous waste of money, I hope it was a present, but somehow doubt it. I'll stick with buying nicer looking pedersenis at 25 bucks a pop.

No Fair!!!!!!!! You have all these wonderful Ts and Pedes already!!! ;P And now you've got the blue out of the pot from the end of the rainbow ;) Great T though and I hope you come out with the feminine side of that 50% chance

@ Aboreal Rayne: I seem to remember Todd Gearheart having something in a pricelist lately wanting deposits on these though he gave no details as to when they would be ready to go

They're available now here in the US, in limited numbers of course. I got them directly from Tommy Agosta. Now he doesn't ship or do the mail order thing, but if you look hard enough, you may be able to find some dealers that have 'em.

Pederseni for $25? What a tremendous waste of money! I could get a much nicer looking regalis for $15.

I heard that one, John. I would gladly take a Regalis any day over the Pederseni.:D

Well I guess I wasted my money tremendously too because I have a Metallica being shipped out this coming Monday. Woo-Hoo, and I can't wait

I may have to take back my previous statements of P. Miranda being my favorite of the two. After seeing the adult pictures, it's pretty hard to not love it.
I know, I've admired other people's pokes but never really wanted any of them personally...

...until I started seeing more pics of P. metallica. That is simply unbelievable. People go on about 'purple hues' with the other species since they're all some variation of earth tones with yellow alarm colors below for some and here is one that is blue and black and grey. What a simply stunning color combination.

I'm having a really hard time mustering the self-control not to ask this dealer I've got a decent credit with not to consider that a downpayment until he hopefully gets some in.

Sure, in two years it will be available for $50 or less as a sling, but that's two whole years...

<pictures getting struck by lightning in thunderstorm again. Nope, not really helping with the T-lust>

*questions sanity of RazorRipley*

The way I see it, if you got the money, go for it! Esp someone like John with such a strong background in tarantula breeding should get a hold of at least one of these guys (hopefully gals!). Hope you get some females out of the bunch, John. And congrats!!!

Then I told her I was considering getting one...

Then I told her the cost...

I just might be staked out on a hill in a suit of medieval armor during a thunder storm if I get one =D

If you get struck by lightning, it may actually be better to be wearing a suit of armor, as the metal would help to spread the charge out through a larger area (or something like that).

Oh yeah, spread the charge THROUGH your body accross your heart and other vital organs ;) You'll literally be roasted alive, bako-boy.

Ideally you want the lighting (if at all!!!) To go from your right arm straight down your rigth side and to be earthed via the right foot. This avoids your heart getting as severe a beating anyway. You may have your foot literally blown off, but you've got another one. This is why electricians stand on the rubber mats with their right leg. Learn a new thing every day!

Anyway.. back on topic

John - I was jesting about the suckered in, I meant it in a light hearted fashion so I hope I didn't offend you!:8o

Oh and stop hogging all the pictures! Take some more! MORE!

Once the price goes down on these beauties (a couple years from now) I'm going to have to snatch one up. It's the only pokie I've ever been attracted to! :)

Yeah, except it doesn't go through your body, since you're wearing metal armor around your body.

Deifiler, I wasn't offended, no worries.
They're pricey alright. No doubt. Though, since I think I'm in the right clique, I was taken care of. But I will say, I paid alot more than people think, though ;).
If you've seen the adult pics, and I'm not talking the ones at the Poecilotheria.com (which are still very nice), you know that they're worth every penny.
I'll take more pics, I just have to re-spider-proof my room. Don't want one of them suckers to shoot down a crack or something.
Size: I said that they're around 1 1/4", but actually now that I look at them next to a scale, they're more like 1 3/4" to 2". Very nice sized specimens.
