Well, I think I figured out why mine hasn't molted yet. She appears to be dying (or she's already gone - there's still some twitching and small movements so I'm not 100% sure she's gone yet). I checked on her earlier today and found her sitting on the ground with 3 of her 4 legs on one side sticking out. They weren't moving, just sticking out there. I don't believe this is DKS, she wasn't behaving that way. All I know is this sucks. Hopefully I can get another one...I was looking forward to watching it grow. :(

You guys won't believe this....she is molting now. I've never seen a T act like this and live. I'm happy she's molting and will be keeping a very close eye on her. Maybe we just made a mistake thinking she was on her way out. The way she was sitting there with just one side of her legs sticking up was odd...I know 2nd instars do molt upright a lot but she wasn't acting like a normal molting 2nd instar. Odd but it worked out I guess. LOL ~whew~

I power fed her no doubt LOL!! I have never seen a T act the way she did so I got her molt on time lapse and am going to put them together since she was acting so odd before hand. Least others can learn something, maybe, from my mistake. I'm guessing I missed something? I've seen thousands of T's molt and yet have never seen anything like this. She looked frozen...with those legs on one side just sticking up. I thought maybe I got some bad crickets at the store or something. She's looking good now though...almost through the molt. Funny enough, Paul had heard about it and called me...I was talking to him about how odd she was behaving and when I looked back at her, she had popped her carapace and was busy molting. ?? Strange days... LOL

Feeling more than a little DOH right about now!! LOL But very happy regardless. {D {D {D

One last thing...(and first, Sorry to Fran for hijacking your thread!)...there was no wrinkling in the abdomen, no pulsating. Basically nothing that would have indicated she was about to molt. Heck, she ate yesterday!! ?? Odd one! That should be her new name! Moving on to my own thread...~innocent whistling~
