So my local reptile shop has some of these for sale and I’m interested in buying one.
So let’s start with my questions:

1. I read they’re a dwarf species. How big do they get exactly?

2. Would a 6 inch cube work for one adult?

3. He has one that is 1/4 inch. What do I feed a sling that small?

4. How fast do they grow?

5. How long do they live? Male and female lifespan.

6. They’re NW so I’m not worrying about venom, but I also read they’re very fast. How fast exactly? Like old world fast or just fast for a NW?

I know this is a lot of questions but I just want to make sure I have everything right before I purchase the little beauty. Thanks to all the help in advance. :)

1. 3-4”
2. No, they use quite a bit of space for webbing. I would use something twice that size.
3. Pre killed mealworm chunks
4. Pretty fast. My male matured in 11 months
5. Male about two years, female not sure, maybe as low as 6, as high as 10.
6. Old World fast
7. Somewhat moist is how I kept mine.

1. They get to around 3''-4'' as adults
2. 6'' cube "probably" work, but these guys use a lot of space IME. So probably provide them more room and a bigger enclosure.
3. prekilled prey. But they can tackle prey their size very easily. These guys are fast and put up good fights.
4. Extremely fast, I had one (olive form) from 1/4'' to adult mature male in 6 1/2 - 7 months.
5. male matured less than a year, so probably talking 1.5-2 years for males and females live from 5-10 years.
6. They're very fast, they're faster than the M. balfouri (IME) and they are like lightning fast for a little T.
7. They like it moist but can tolerate it dry once in a while.

So mist once a week, let it dry out, and then mist again the next? Would that work?
I mean I just pour water like rain in the enclosure every now and then and let it dry out for a bit before adding adding water again. I don't do cycles for when I add water to the enclosure, I just add whenever it's very dry. It's more of a preference of moisture.

I’ll do what you do then since it seems to be working. Thanks so much for info. I really appreciate it

Around 3"-3.5"

2. Would a 6 inch cube work for one adult?
Na, a medium kritter keeper seems about right for an adult, they make GBBs look like slouches.

3. He has one that is 1/4 inch. What do I feed a sling that small?
Pre-killed roach nymphs/pinhead crickets/mini mealworms, you could also just dice up larger prey into manageable chunks.

4. How fast do they grow?
Fast, Got my female as a 2cm sling about a year and 9 months ago and she's not quite fully grown but is sexually mature.

5. How long do they live? Male and female lifespan.
Not sure, guessing around 18 months to 2 years for males and 8-12 years for females.

6. They’re NW so I’m not worrying about venom, but I also read they’re very fast. How fast exactly? Like old world fast or just fast for a NW?
Stupidly fast.

7. Care? Dry? Moist?
Slightly moist, don't let them dry out for long periods. Give them enough sub to burrow but plenty of anchor points as well. I lean a cork flat horizontally against one of the sides rather than use a traditional hide for mine.

GREAT GREAT species to own. I've owned them.

1. AFs, about 3"
2. It would, but I would go larger for an adult.
3. Crickets
4. Very fast even with temps at 75F
5. Average about 8-10 yrs if I recall
6. VERY fast, they take off like lightning, and the slightest movement sets them off-- they can be as fast as some OWs, so be careful!! They are NOT like Brachys.

They will web up the entire floor of the container, burrow all under it, and when you drop a cricket in, you never know which hole they will pop out of. One of THE most underrated Ts in the hobby. Been in the hobby for decades.

Would a 6x4x4 enclosure with 2-2.5 inches of sub a small hide be en good for a 1.75-2” max diagonal length T?
