I have lurked on this site for years, but this is my first time posting. My name is Dei (pronounced 'day'), and I have been in the hobby for almost 10 years. I would spend most of my youth outside herping but now I am mostly into gaming and fashion.
I am looking to meet more people interested in arachnids as it seems to be hard finding people like us naturally outside of conventions. I have kept old and new world tarantulas, scorpions, and some reptiles. Here is a picture of one of my favorite babies,
my juvenile H. Pulchipes. I am a very curious person, and I enjoy reading other's experiences in the hobby. Okiee byee :rat:

Hi, I’m Bryan. I’m not new here, but I’m back after a long hiatus from the hobby so I figured I would reintroduce myself.

I have been interested in this hobby my whole life, and kept all sorts of critters from new world to old world Ts, centipedes, scorpions, mantises, millipedes, snakes. Pet stores don’t sell venomous critters in my state so I had to drive over the border for my first G Rosea back in 2008 or so. Made that trip a few more times for more critters until I gave online ordering a try.

I lost most of my collection due to a huge fire in my apartment building back in 2018. Hard to believe it has been 7 years already, but I am ready to start building up my collection again now that I have a dedicated creature room.

Hello.

I love spiders, and particularly jumpers, but don't have any plans to keep any. I keep Banana Slugs (Ariolimax Buttoni) and found this forum while searching for an invertebrate community. Despite their popularity, they're not nearly as commonly kept as other gastropods are, largely due to their low temperature requirements. It's been a lot of fun contributing to their documentation.

I love forums as a platform and was delighted to find that you guys are still so active! Way too many communities have moved to unsearchable Discord servers.

Hows it going? Id like to Introduce myself to the site. My name is James and i am originally from south Florida born and raised, yes thats right one of them crazies and ill live it to the end lol I now reside in Tennessee and have been her 18 years and am 41. I am a out doors person and I really love nature both plants and animals and i am no stranger to the realm. I have spent over 20 years in the animal / exotic animal / aquarium trade. Growing up in Florida gave me access to some really awesome stuff...that is before it all became invasive and took over lol. I am not going to come in here as a know it all and in fact i am always one to claim to know nothing so i can learn more. I spend my time studying and observing my animals and would rather be with them than most people. I am very happy to have found this forum and look forward to chatting and learning more with everyone. As for what i have in my collection, I currently have 3 trantulas, vietnamese giant centipied cherry morph, fish, sea urchin, axolotl, isopods, roaches, ants, frog, crawfish and of course i can't not mentions 3 cats lol. I am housing a female jumping spider at the moment, we found her with eggs and a hammock she made on a leaf. We found here while harvesting some mint and was on a piece cut down so I brought her in until she has her babies and i can give her back to nature with her young. I also have this little spider that doesnt have a "cage" it freely lives in my room and has chosen the area with the other spiders to make its little web under the light i provide them with. I dont usually kill any bug or anything i see running across my floor. I will usually catch it and put it outside, but as for this little spider I let him live in the house as it doesnt go anywhere else. I have no idea the specie and if i knock its web down it will just rebuild it and stay in the same place lmao. When we move ill capture it in a little cup and bring it with me and let it continue to be a member of the crew. It isnt a widow or anything like that, it is a tiny little garden spider specie.

Anyway...enough of my mombo jumbo, i am super stoked to find this forum to be able to talk and discuss my trantulas, random spider friends, and my centipede along with anything else anyoneis willing to discuss. I know there are rules in the forum as there are with any so no worries, i am here to have general conversations and have no intention on causing problems. I appreciate the moment to introduce myself, thank you.

I don't post much anymore, but thought I'd say hi again afer having my 20 year anniversary here. I've been keeping T's for well over 30 years now, and still love the hobby. Great to see all the new members.
