I'm in Edmonton! Nice to see another Albertan here. What kind of tarantula is Licorice? I have two: Sybil (B. hamorii) and Luca (G. pulchra). I've stuck to those two for about a year and half, but I'm getting the urge to add one or two more.
Hey I’m also from Edmonton and recently got back into the hobby with a sub adult Lasiodora Parahybana, and looking to grow my collection, thinking about a GBB for number two

Hi! Wasnt sure there would be people from Alberta on here, I am actually in Morinville not to far from Edmonton. Licorice is a Curly Hair (Tliltocatl albopilosus)(I am still learning the scientific names lol) I am also getting the urge to get another.

Heya there! My names Theo and I'm just a lady who likes bugs and spiders from Northern Michigan. Got my first T about 5 years ago, a beautiful female A. chalcodes and got plum hooked. Also like keeping various pet cockroach species, millipedes and looking to break into large beetle keeping, and some non T spiders. Been a lurker on the board for a while but finally got around to registering!

Hi. I'm in Birmingham UK. I have a few ant colonies, but haven't bought any tarantulas yet.
Welcome from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, any ideas for your first T? I just got back into the hobby with a big girl, a Lasidora Parahybana

I’m looking to expand my collection as well, thinking a GBB for number two

I'm not sure yet. I just bought another ant colony, and as I'm recovering from pneumonia and I'm not too mobile yet, it'll have to wait till I'm back on my feet and can go foraging for stuff for a naturalistic enclosure.

If only all ppl were as heads on about getting their t's! always prepare first 😊
Carful though our UK isopods will eat a small sling so if your using foraged stuff get an adult t not a sling .
Newcastle here welcome to ab 😉

That would have been my thought too, natural stuff comes with natural hazards to your little baby, get an L. Parahybana, they’re big, fairly docile and fast growers with a good feeding response. Love my girl!

Can't go wrong with a GBB
I was going to buy an adult female in the city here for myself, but my niece has a huge interest in tarantulas, and her mom is entertaining the idea of letting me add a T to their aquarium room. So…. the GBB might end up in their home, and if they don’t end up wanting to keep it, I’ll take it off of them. But the way she was in the bug room of our local museum, I’m hoping this sparks a lifelong love of tarantulas. This is also why I’m thinking of buying the adult GBB with enclosure, she’ll get a beautiful display T with a fully setup enclosure

Thanks. I'm thinking of a juvie or adult to start with, then slings after since they evidently need patience, rather like ants. I wouldn't bother with a naturalistic setup in a sling pot, just substrate.
