What a handsome spider. I hope mine is as good looking as yours when he's fully grown. You must be proud.

Wow that thing is huge (unless you have small hands, which I can't really tell). Very very nice, I've come close to letting my 7" crawshayi crawl on my hand but she usually hisses when she comes up to them

Ok well it looks like once againt he Pet Store naming bandit has struck, when i bought mine it was labeled as a Hercules Baboon, they had the latin Name,...Hystocrates Hercules i believe, not Gigas, are these 2 sp's one and the same or is there a difference here i should be aware of ? Whatever it is this is by far one of my most active T's and one of my most aggressive so nope nuh uh not at all will you see pics of mine in my hand. No offense meant here MizM but, you're more of a man than me in that area..lol...mine is like a mini-dozer 24/7 all day and all night constantly moving and rearanging everything in the tank. A black velvety killing hissing machine, gotta love it though...

No, H. gigas and H. hercules are not *supposed* to be the same. The hercules supposedly gets huge, like around 10". I believe there is some debate in the hobby as to real H. hercules being sold, however. I remember reading that many people who thought they had a H. hercules actually had H. gigas or something different, not a true H. hercules. I don't know if things have changed since I remember reading all that, though.

yeah its true, i've been warned by UK ppl that theres some trouble with the species Hysterocrate in the marked, there would be lots of cross breeding, they even say that the none-hybrid are rare!

4" Female Hysterocrates "gigas"
From Spider-man 2's eggsac last year. Thanks, Dwayne. :D

I really need to find a way to get away from the dog hair in my apartment.

Anyone else have any spiders from Dwayne's eggsac? I'd be interested to see what they look like (especially if you have them sexed).
