Go by 2 to 2.5 the times of the T's DLS, ( diagonal leg span). For arboreals you want taller height for the enclosure. Stick to that and if wire mesh lid/top like with Exo Terra it needs to be replaced.

Why it needs to be replaced because not only is it woven mesh that a tarantula can get it's leg/s stuck a sub-adult on up can rip it open and escape.

Go to Home Depot or Lowe's and get the thin acrylic sheet. Ask service desk up front where it's located if you can't find it. You also need aquarium safe glue, I use a glue gun.

I cut it with a utility knife it's simple. Cut to size to fit the lid/top

Now there's two ways to make air vents in it 1. Drill or 2. Soldering iron. I use a $10 soldering iron and I've done it inside. I recommend you do it outside or your parents might reign down on you due to the toxic smell of burning acrylic.

Once you have it finished rip the wire mesh out of the lid. Glue the acrylic in it's place voila you're done and it's easy to do.
If you get the exo terra nano or mini tall there’s tarantula cribs acrylic replacements that work

Yes but T Cribs are pretty pricey. If a person wants to go that route and they are fine with the prices then it's all good.

It's up to each person what they want to do. I prefer to buy the acrylic sheets as I'll have leftover for multiple enclosures if I need it.

Just the replacement lid isn’t bad.
Should be a lot less than an adult C.Versicolor lol, especially if it’s confirmed female.

So measured it and it’s 12x12x12, and I can buy a replacement on the website of zoo med for acrylic, where I’ll drill holes. Should I also drill holes on the side or is front and top fine?

If it’s glass you’re probably not drilling holes
