Here are some pics I took of my new arrival. Sorry about the fuzzyness of them, no digi-cam, and my webcam's not the greatest, but thought everyone would want to see. I'd also like to thank everyone for all your help(may not be the last time I ask for it...lol) and patience, as I'm not as expirienced a keeper as most. Not that great a speller, either, lol {D

I can't really see. Could you make the pictures any bigger?

You know, if you upload them to somewhere like PhotoBucket you wont have to resize them :D I recently learned that myself. ;P

Unfortunately, no I can't. Cam's crappy, so the bigger I go, the fuzzier it gets. Doesn't help its' kinda small, blends in w/ the substrate, and is hard to see anyway. :8o

I may be looking at it wrong, but if that is an H. lividum, then it needs quite a bit more substrate to burrow. Maybe it's just sloped and I can't tell.

Congrats.

Oh no, you're looking right. Been working so much, haven't had time to get another bag of Jungle Mix, so I had to steal some from my other H.'s tank in a pinch. Got more now so it's all kinds of happy.

Two of the three sacs have molted into first instar. The third sac is looking good, just a week or so behind the other two.

Awesome! There are few things as cool as seeing hundreds of my favorite species in one spot! :worship:

I've never attempted breeding, but I was always curious if they are capable of biting at that size. Are they? Probably not...but for future reference, approx. when are they capable of biting?

@ Surena - I hope so as well. I wish you luck.

@ Deschain - They cannot bite at this size for sure... they aren't even feeding yet. As for the size at which they can give a bite, I'm not certain. I would think they would need to be 1.5 inches or so to have mouthparts large enough to bite. I've never been bitten, so I hope to never know for sure.
