I think somebody asked earlier in this thread about how small avic's can be and still be shooting poop. It's not an avicularia per se, but I've seen a 3/4" I hirstura shoot poop. Thankfully the butt was not aimed at me when I witnessed that.

On a picture note, here is my Avicularia popcorn :p I think this is A. braunshaunseni or it's just Avic avic. I neglected to ask the person who was selling it at the swap, since I had assumed it was Avicularia avicularia. Anyway, she's roughly 5 years old. That is the tank she came home in, not the tank I want to keep her in, btw! I haven't moved her into a new home yet, will do this weekend, if I can find the right container.

Here are a few of my purpurea, she just molted a few weeks ago, the pics that show her closets to her true colors are the 2 that she is on my hands, I thought putting her on the white tiles would bring out her colors better but? One of these days I will learn how to get the correct lighting for pics.

Mmmmmm....purrrrrple! HIGH on my wishlist!

RE: lighting for pics: I think I remember reading that dark backgrounds seem to help...I think it 'tricks' light meters into giving a brighter flash, so the colors come out. Give it a try, see how it turns out, let us know. :)

I love avics and all arboreals in general, just my opinion but arboreals are far more interesting then terrestrials and burrower.

I only own 3 aboreal if you don't count my P. murinus that sometimes thinks she is aboreal and sometimes thinks she is terrestial ;)

I think Heteropoda venatoria is an aboreal species if it's not I only own 2 species for the moment ;)
