wow how beautiful. I want some. any speacial housing needs for versicolor and purpurea?

Are those newer to the hobby? I don't ever recall seeing one.
They're not new to the hobby... but likely not a unique species (like quite a few Avicularia).

Probably a regional variant of the avicularia/metallica complex... but a REALLY gorgeous spider regardless!

My avicularia sp. (metallica? - never known exactly), moulted recently. Hope you'll enjoy ;)

That looks like Avicularia "braunshauseni", this species has the red setae on the rear legs that your T seems to have. They grow to be quite a bit bigger than A.avic, but look quite similar.

LS about 5 in, mature female, had an eggsac this year. I think it's an a.metallica or a.avicularia.

A.avic doesnt usually have red setae on the rear legs....and A.metallica has a blue black abdomen with no red at all. The toes of A.metallica would also be white-ish.

a avic molt

i can't get a good shot of my a avic yet because i haven't seen it out of its web yet...but ill be sure to post one of the actual t when i can
