This is 1 day post molt:

Just saw this again, and had a thought... If that's one day past moult, why is it eating ?!! Mine won't touch a damn thing for nigh on 6 weeks after a moult !

This beast will eat up until the day of molt and the day after if I let it. Usually I don't feed anything that close after a molt, but due to stressing it during the dig up to get the molt out I gave him 1 cricket just to ease his pain. It wasn't a full feeding and he had hardened, so I gave him one.

Not a good idea, I would remove that and instead I would mist every 2-3 days

yes, that wool is a bacteria and fungus breeding ground! lose it and just mist twice a week or put some drops of water down the siede of the tank. that's really enough for hydration.

congrats and welcome to the hobby btw! :D

Ok Cotton wool has now been removed, at the moment hes kept in a jam jar inside his tank (all heated etc) but I was told thats best to do as he would get lost in the tank being so small.

There is like condensation around the bottom of the jar (about the same level as the surface of the peat) is that ok? will he drink from that (of cause I will mist every 2/3 days)

Thanks for the welcome guys. I'm getting a Chilean Rose next week but thats abit bigger.

I was sat here last night watching the 'ling, very fascinating to watch.

misting will provide lil droplets of water that he can drink from until he is big enough for a water dish.. always steer well away from sponges and cotton wool etc.. bacteria breeding ground :p

Thanks.I thinks so also considering you saw her when i purchased her a little over a month ago.She had a big bald spot on her abdomen where she had kicked all the hairs off and she was very dull when i first acquired her.A quick environment change and some dark quiet time and here she is freshly molted and looking very nice.
