That's not Grammostola iheringi or actaeon - that's Tlitocatl vagans. If it were either of the Grammostola species, it would have a mirror patch. Still a cool T.
Yes Tlitocatl vagans.
Picked up an adult female Grammostola something-or-other (actaeon? iheringi?) from a collector on Craigslist. She is stunning! I put a quarter next to her here for size comparison:

She's been super sweet and docile until I tried to remove that quarter from her enclosure and she attacked with blinding speed and ferocity. "KEEP YOUR DIRTY TONGS OFF OF MY MONEY!"
my local craigslist doesn’t allow selling of pets.

Picked up my layaway girl yesterday, payday couldn't come soon enough.

She tolerated the transition to substrate without incident. Probably the most docile tarantula I've encountered so far. They really are the best brachypelma. PXL_20231221_201053610.jpg

Stunning T, looks like B. emilia.

Is that wood chips? Not sure what that is.
She is indeed the emilia, and yes, she was on wood chips. There are 3 others kept like this, all pamphobeteus sadly, from someone who surrendered their entire collection. I couldnt afford them but they are sub adults and have basically already outgrown the box. I was worried this young lady could've gone to someone who may have left her like that since there's ample room.

Do you know what kind of wood chips? Hopefully not anything coniferous that would be harmful.

Wood chips of any kind are not recommended for T's.

Oh I did it as soon as I got her home! I had put a deposit on her almost 2 weeks ago, it was not a fun wait.
Oh ok, well all is good then. What size is the emilia? I really like B. emilia they have such stunning color and patterns.

I lost a 1 inch emilia sling back in February 2021. No rhyme or reason why it passed, broke my heart.

She's about 4", a sophisticated lady :)

1" must've taken you years. Sorry to hear that.

Unfortunately I received it in November 2020. It just didn't make it. Everything was perfect in it's enclosure. Sometimes slings just don't make it for many different reasons.

Rounding out my Psalmopoeus collection, so I picked up this tiny one today:

0.0.1 Psalmopoeus irminia, 0.5" DLS

If seems ridiculous to me that I didn't already have one of these, but that's not a problem now!

Thank goodness this has been most adorably remedied. Oh those orange leg warmers..... They grow up so fast 😂😭

These two have been sitting in the layaway section at the reptile store for a month if not longer ... Last week he said he was thinking about putting them back on the shelf because the customer was AWOL.

I am now $200 poorer.

Please note the absolutely adorable ventilation patterns. They even melted the lines in.

Got myself some new babies for Christmas!
Little baby C. versicolor to replace my little mature male that moved out: 20231226_203038.jpg
B. emilia (thinks it's hiding 🫣): 20231226_202457.jpg
And a tiny Cyriocosmus sellatus sling. This is my first Cyriocosmus species and I'm very excited:

Mine doesn’t either. That’s why people post them as, “Tarantula enclosures for sale”. Or “Toy tarantula”. I think the funniest one I saw recently for “an enclosure”said something like, “Everything in the picture is included. I mean EVERYTHING.” Lol. Nice looking OBT.
