...is not a safe place right now, nor has been for a while, for anyone to do safe lengthy research.
My dealer has (last time i went), a giant communal enclosure. It was very interesting to look at.
i also watched the video where Dave rehoused a balfouri communal. That was crazy.
i don’t want...
All that means is nobody in science is studying it....which leaves 100% of info on the subject coming directly from the hobby....which has extensive info available
There hasn't been any extensive field work done to prove that M. balfouri live communally in their natural habitat. What has been observed on Socotro Island is solidary lifestyle.

...thread has been amusing for sure, mind set not skill as others have said 🤷🏻♀️.
Your choices so far seem sound, maybe not so much with the communal, research has shown most are eventually broken up , I don't think I have seen proof of one that lasted long term people seem to brake them up...
I can't recommend pokies enough. Definitely get a P cambridgei and a P irminia. They are very similar to Poeciletheria in terms of care, and ime more defensive. Not as fast, but very fast when they want to be. Besides that, they are quick growers and beautiful T's.
I wouldn't worry too...
...regalis, etc. They are just absolutely spectacular!!! I did already "cross the line" into OW. I already got 9 M.balfouri slings for a communal, although I have 1 of them separate on his/her own because he was significantly smaller than the others. They are all 0.5in roughly, I had no problems...
...additions. Get ready for some next level hair kicking with N tripepi. If youre lucky, they will be calm like my N color.
If you wish for a communal, get m balfouris from a known breeder/dealer that can provide you with sac mates, that are young slings.
Otherwise, your chances of success...
Why not just build it a medieval style castle, with a moat. Make it a balfouri communal, have the draw bridge set up so when it goes down it releases the crickets.
I'm sure we can think of more 😂 😂 😂
I'm thinking the exact same here 😂 😂 😂
This has got to be someone winding us up.
I had them in my Tityus stigmurus communal.
Would not recomend it.
When a Scorp is molting, those f***ers start munching on it.
I saw two times how they killed a freshly moltet adultsize scorpion. Then i tooked everything out and fried the soil in the oven an washed the enclosure woth hot...
Where did the spider learn to molt? A webinar roflcoptermao!!11!1!
😭😏👀
And why did it bring a board? To surf the web! Muahahahaa!!!
How do you call a Balfouri Communal after 2010? A Social Network!! Teeeheheheehehee
What do spiders with small dicks brag about? Their NET worth!
Akhakhakhakh
...and you definitely should throw in a bit more substrate in there. It’s true they could eat each other, but I wouldn’t say balfouris AREN’T communal at all, right?
aaaand I take it back. Apparently they’ve never actually been seen living communally in the wild, but still have evolved to live...
There has been lots of research on the m.balfouri and them being communal look into tom morans communal or the tarantula collective
https://youtube.com/shorts/ByCVrMQNTdo?si=FqOPn8bHu8UCTjkt
They are even sold communals
Yes I know I need more substrate as posted in my first post was just wondering what people's thoughts were on the decor the m.balfouri are a communal speices and have had no issue with them
I am wondering what everyone's thought are about putting this in my m.balfouri communal it will be sitting on the bottom of enclosure and I will be adding substrate around it and yes I know I need more substrate but wanna get opinions on having the castle in the tank?
I was thinking of adding this to my m.balfouri communal just wondering what everyone's thoughts on it is? I'll have to sitting on the bottom of the tank then adding substrate all around it and yes I am adding more substrate to the whole thing
