    Displays at conventions

Do you use different size deli cups or just all the same style of deli cup? Depending on what I bring I usually have something out like a tailess whip, an Asian forest scorpion or an Arizona blonde. A loose centipede will defin Lists? Do the vendors generally have a list on display of what...

    Displays at conventions

Hello everyone! I have a side business in breeding and selling invertebrates, reptiles, and amphibians and I regularly go to conventions like Repticon. I've been (as well as many other local breeders) using deli cups and sometimes vials to house tarantulas, spiders, centipedes, millipedes...

    Invert Drying

Thank you guys! Roughly how long would it take for something to get dry? I currently have a 1” Scorpio maurus and an adult Heterometrus. There’s nothing wrong with leaving it in the silica for longer if it’s already dry?

    Invert Drying

Thank you! Would it work best in a fully sealed deli cup or would it be better if it had some ventilation along with it? Is it alright to reuse?

    Invert Drying

Lately I’ve been getting into making “ambers” using UV resin and deceased inverts or molts. I was told to do this correctly and avoid the resin potentially exploding I need to make sure the specimen is completely dry and was wondering what would be the best way to completely dry the specimen?

    “Show” species recommendations

Me personally it can be either a heavy Webber or non Webber. My opinion of a show tarantula is just one that’s always out in plain sight. If it happens to be an active species then even better. I actually currently have both a GBB and a P. Regalis, they’re both luckily always out, especially...

    “Show” species recommendations

So I’m currently in the process of making shelves for some nice display enclosures and was curious what your opinion would be on some rarer species that are mostly out. (Not opposed to fossorial species but would much rather prefer if I could see them. The bigger the better as well. Any color is...

Comment by 'DerekG4' in media 'A. variegata? Sling'

Just curiosity, I just noticed they looked super similar and was wondering if there’s any noticeable difference between the two species.

    A. variegata? Juv

So I got these Avics in which came in as Avicularia variegata but they look like normal A. Avicularia to me. Is there any way to tell them apart easily? The Juvenile is about 2 3/4” and the smaller one is about 1 1/2”

    Harvestmen in the hobby?

Actually just contacted a breeder that used to have M. Innata and was telling me if they’re kept in temps higher than 74°, they will slowly decline. Will be very tough for me as I live in Florida and my coldest room is 71°. sucks to hear, I was really hoping they wouldn’t be too difficult to...

    Harvestmen in the hobby?

I’ll look for them, hopefully they’re all relatively the same care.

    Harvestmen in the hobby?

Ive seen V. Ornata for sale a few times, but besides those I’ve never seen any other species. I’d definitely be interested in other ones if they’d be available and not super expensive.

    Harvestmen in the hobby?

So, I just found out there’s quite a lot of types of Harvestmen and after seeing some really cool pics on Instagram I was wondering whether these guys are commonly available or kept (if they can even be kept). What would their care be like in comparison to other inverts?,

Info on Brotheas granulatus please (Like if they are good communal candidates)

I’ve kept a couple of these a while back, they’re not very aggressive, about the same as a Heterometrus I’d say, care is practically the same as well, however I’m not experienced on keeping them (adults) communally as I kept them separate just to be safe. I’ve had multiple 2i slings together in...

Comment by 'DerekG4' in media 'ID?'

Was looking at a previous picture of a C. Gracilis I have side by side and the gracilis has a completely different tone of brown on the legs, plus the body and tail are completely black whereas this one has a reddish brown tone on most of its body.

does look like a fair bit like it, but it shouldn’t be it as this species is from Nicaragua

Almost positive this is a Centruroides bicolor.

After some researching, I believe this may be a Didymocentrus krausi.

    ID?

Got a bunch of mixed scorpions in from Nicaragua. This one is very small, barely 1” in length. Very fast and loves to use that tail.
