Hey all. I currently have a 3 tarantulas, tlitocatl albopilosum, bracyhpelma klaasi and a bracyypelma auratum.
I will be attending the Toronto reptile show and am considering a xenesthis immanis or spec blue.
I have done lots of reading but just want to confirm on husbandry. I am aware they...
I have my three in a curio cabinet. I have placed a heating pad along the back of the curio to radiate heat , I also put a low watt 25 watt night time heat bulb approximately 3 feet above the “T” s so that the heat isn’t directly over them. The T’s are on the lower shelf and the heat bulb is...
thanks for the input was going to buy some eco soil, pretty much coco fiber but then a buddy gave me this bag of creature soil.... just planning my next habitat set up for after the next molt...
Creature Soil
Anyone heard of this stuff? If so is i safe to use for my "T"s. I currently have a B.albopilosum, B.klassi and a B auratum (all are slings). I was given a bag from a friend so wanted to check before I go ahead and use it. Thanks for any feedback and or advice.
Material(s): Peat...
I have s B. Albopilsum. I keep the substrate dry with a water dish I overflow every so often and mine seems quite content and happy. Perhaps you substrate is to damp?
So it should be I stand corrected. In regards to the slings I was afraid that was going to be the answer. Guess I’ll have to wait to find out. Thanks I appreciate the assistance.
so I picked up two new slings yeaterday at the TO expo. Upon feeding today I place the two caps down without thinking and kinda mixed them up. I believe I have been able to properly I’d these two little dudes or dudette. Can anyone verify if I got it right . I believe the first photo is the B...
So I attended the reptile expo in Toronto today and picked up two more “T” slings. Brachypelma klaasi and Brachypelma auratum. Was only planning on getting one but couldn’t resist. Expo was awesome with lots of great vendors. Anyone else there today?
I can’t offer any advice when it comes to arboreals. I can recommend the Brachypelma Albopilosum as a excellent starter T as that is what I got. In regards to Canadian breeders, Tarantula Canada have been great , Amanda is great. Also Tangled In Webs. In case you were unaware there is the...
Can’t go wrong with a Brachypelma Albopilosum. Is my first T and is great. I’ll be picking up my second T this weekend at the Toronto Reptile Show. Can’t wait. Haven’t quite decided but a few of the others had mentioned are on my list . Mind you another Brachypelma is not out of the question ...
So I think my lil friend is quite clever. Every time I place a pre killed cricket it eats it but never when I’m around . I’m quite certain it monitors me haha. I spun it’s enclosure around and finally got a picture of its rear end. This is the most I have seen of this lil dude or dudette in the...
I recently got my first T and I also got a Brachypelma A. I absolutely luv it. It is quite small still and stays hidden in its hide but eats every time I place a pre killed cricket in its enclosure. I highly recommend for your first T. Easy to care for , provide a nice hide , enough substrate...
awesome thanks all, i didn't think there was much of a difference between them but just wanted to confirm. So husbandry would be the same as my B. Albo? Ill be heading to the TO reptile show and pick one up there. And yes Tarantula Canada has some good prices I had no idea they were much...
Hey guys looking at one of these two for my second T. Suggestions or any key differences? Thanks very much . I currently have a B.Albopilosum sling and digging it. Two will be my max until I become more knowledgeable.
