Hey all...I'm back, more or less. The winter was not great. At all. My personal cocktail of crazy tends to drive me to make mountains out of molehills. A chain of events unfolded that made me fall into self-loathing mode, I dropped out of school and sat in the same spot long enough that I'm...
The G. porteri girl I paired in August started digging a burrow at Christmas, and completed it shortly before New Years. The only other time she has ever bothered to burrow was in preparation for an unexpected egg sac she dropped six months after I got her. Bearing that in mind, I believe I...
I have experienced three instances of teleportation, and two out of the three involved Avics. Agreed with Radium about them being good for getting used to the unpredictable speed of other, crankier arboreals.
Oh I'd never advise someone to get rid of a pet! :) Well, except for in extreme circumstances of course. Rehoming should always be a last resort IMHO, there are plenty of better options to consider.
For example, a lot of people don't realize that cats can be trained just like dogs. You just...
That adorable stretchy, leisurely walk they do when they're strolling about their enclosures.
And also pretty much everything else they do. Once while I was observing my GBB it casually turned around and pooped in my general direction; even that made me go, "Dawwwwww! Who hates mommie's guts...
I've only done one pairing so far, but it went really well. It was done in ten minutes - the male was a little tank, strutted right up and got the job done lickety-split. The female was calm as can be right up to the point that I separated them.
Was still a nervous wreck the whole time though...
The vast majority of my collection have a fondness for shredding their exuvia into tiny pieces shortly after moulting. My P. cambridgei juvies seem to prefer integrating them into their dirt curtains and the walls of their burrows.
L. violaceopes is a big one for me, several genera of Poecilotheria, and I'd like to own pretty much every "baboon" Tarantula that I know of. I find every single one of them just straight up gorgeous.
However I will not bring a large number of hot T's into my collection until I have the space...
A combination of me wanting to get over my arachnophobia and me feeling sorry for a G. porteri sitting in my LPS for months on end. I brought that rosie home, quickly grew to love her and the rest is history. :)
Now I'm waiting for that same G. porteri to give me an eggsac! I hope she gives...
I'm not really confident enough in my abilities at this point to own any "baboons" though there are several that I hope to own eventually. The first will be either C. marshalli or C. darlingi; I simply adore the appearance of Ceratogyrus species. :D Another species I'm eager to add to my...
Wow. Just...wow. *SMH*
So much broken logic...it's physically painful to read this.
She's supposed to be going to your apartment to clean it, not to babysit in it, correct? If that's the case I'd be pointing out to her that if anything, she's the one who put the kid in danger by bringing him...
Whaaaaaaaat??? Did you post about this anywhere else on the forums, by any chance? I'm curious to know the details. Y'know, assuming you're willing to share said details of course.
