Looks like you're posting those via geocities. Those won't show up most of the time in forums. You should try using a site like photobucket.

Hi All, 5" female Xenesthis sp. Blau nearing a molt.

for me it's not a X. sp. blau :embarrassed: maybe an intermedius or sp. hell

Best regards

hello,

i have seen live X. sp. blue live in terrarium, and this female haven't the characteristic colouring of the species.

here is some pictures of the specimens that i can seen in terrarium

female :

male :

http://www.arachnet.free.fr/galerie/pages/mygales/Xenesthis_sp_bleu_male_sub_03.htm

so, for me, the specimen of Vogelspinnen, also beautiful it is, isn't a Xenesthis sp. blau.

Humm if it's not sp.blue could it be "Powder Blue" {D.

Sorry had to be first to get that one in.

It more than likely is not sp. "blue". I actually think it's the one called sp. "white". Whatever the sp. is that Todd brought in as sp. "blue" is what this spider is.

Hopefully this thread stays under control, I don't feel like making popcorn right now! :)

Hi All, Insectoman/benoit, KILLER pics!!! - What is sp. Hell? This girl was sold to me as Xenesthis sp. Blau although she has no blue on her now. The dealer that sold her to me took a few pics from 2 molts ago and she did have blue as this pic shows if you look hard as it is not very clear from this dark pic but hardly any blue when compared to the photos you just posted.

Judging from your pics Insectoman my girl does not look like your Xenesthis sp. Blau. One thing I'm fairly sure of is that my girl is not Xenesthis immanis, my X immanis were never this girls rusty red color pre molt but more a faded blackish gray although now she does look very similar to X immanis fresh post molt. From what I've been told once near adult size the female X sp.Blau, X intermedius and, X sp.White are almost impossible to tell apart. I've heard from one fancier overseas that claims to be friends with the "only" keeper/breeder of X sp. Blau and that there were none sent to us here in the USA. With that being said my girl might in fact be X sp. White which as a spiderling has whiteish legs hence the name but once juvenile or larger looks like the rest. This is not the first mislabeled arachnid we've had to deal with. I would really like to be able to identify her. Do any of your Xenesthis look rusty red like mine pre molt? Thanks, Motz
