Finally my Avic Avic has motled again. She's still pretty fresh so it will be a week or so before I'm able to get pictures of her. She getting a rehouse after this. This is my oldest one. I can't even retrieve the molt she still has everything webbed up and anchored to the top hence why I'm never ever going to set up an enclosure for an Avic this way again.

Well we moulted and my now female pamphobeteus machalla is probably a male. But everything went well everything is out n we have our starburst on our carapace now and are busy awkwardly grooming our super long legs.

Look so funny when they groom just after moulting 😆

Girly bits that dont look like girly bits n 3 n a quarter inches on this moult.

But boy or girl happy everything went well. Well done little one.

How big is she now? She looks about the same size as my male, he's around 4" and has become a LOT more sassy since his last molt. Now he tries to wrestle my tongs every single time I need to change his water bowl, which is his favorite place to poop, and therefore requires frequent changes.
She's a bit under 4 inches now, and super laid back. I'm hoping she stays that way, I'll be using her as an ambassador animal if she does. Where did you get your boy? I got Thrix from Fear Not Tarantulas, kinda curious if we have sacmates lol. 20240128_102133.jpg
Obligatory next day pic, to show off those blues.

Yup! Same source, I got him in July 2022, as a very small sling. I bet they are indeed sacmates! That's super cool. She's gorgeous. 😍
My boy is named Topaz.
Ambassador animal... I'm thinking that's not really his thing. LOL

This is what I have to deal with literally every time I have to steal away his precious water bowl/toilet. Usually a bribe is required to complete the task successfully. I'm glad his sister is so sweet for you, though.

Judging by those feathery legs, you might have a fresh MM on your hands. Try to get a look at the pedipalps. If not this time, it's definitely penultimate. I'm sure there's someone out there that needs him!

I'm suspicious as well, but the whole front end is buried in the web tunnel, so no view yet. Definitely the fluffiest he's ever looked, by a lot.
Edit: confirmed! He's officially matured. 😊

This morning got up to a fresh moult off Tilly my Bonnetina tanzeri sling no gender yet n pretty sure I won't get it this time either as we are playing pile on with the moult 😆 20240129_054512.jpg
Looks like we put on good size this time luckily our upgrade came last Friday so we can bee moved straight over once we eat.

And a small update Maleficent is female just needed to wait for the moult to dry out a bit 20240128_181318.jpg

My little geniculata molted which was a huge surprise to me. Glad I can properly sex that one now even though I'm 99% sure it's male. Meanwhile my B. emilia who has had a black abdomen for a week now still refuses to molt.

I had these sling molt yesterday:

0.0.1 Neischnocolus iquitos, 0.625" DLS:

0.0.1 Theraphosidae sp. cuzco, 0.75" DLS:

0.0.1 Psalmopoeus emeraldus, 1.25" DLS (Tres):

Also, 0.0.1 Eucratoscelus pachypus, Omicron, tossed its exuvia out of the burrow, but no pics and I don't even know how big it is. I would guess it's still under 1" DLS, though - they don't grow much... 🤣

Hi, me again...

It's Avic molting season - 1.0 Avicularia hirschii molted today. He's around 3" DLS now.

Also, one of the new little Heterothele sp. Zanzibar slings molted today. Very leggy, with spinnerettes almost as long as it's pedipalps (sorry the pic is a little blurry):

My biggest psalmopoeus girl had a molt today. Can't wait to see her back out exploring and hunting once she's ready to eat again. I've missed her. 20240130_201102.jpg

This girl (hopefully) surprised me today. Came home to her on her side preening with her molt up in her web above her water dish. Assuming she flung it there after versus fell out from the top. Wasn’t expecting her to molt for a little while yet, so a happy surprise.
