Which tarantula species do you currently keep?

I mean, I understand some people here might have hundreds of species, so if you don't want to post, that's fine, but I got curious about what everyone else has! Just the genus/species so if you have doubles, no need to put them up twice.

I'll go first: (I haven't been in the hobby for very long so not much yet)

If one is looking to bond/become friends with people who have similar species, then likely not., and you would be correct. If one is simply looking for information, then looking through the directory is a far faster, and more complete method in my opinion if one accepts the profile info as true.

It depends on one's goals I think.

I'm not looking to become friends with anyone. But I'd prefer to have a nosey on what they keep via a thread than look at their profile.

I prefer the profile so I don't have to bookmark a thread. The less I need to bookmark the better. Also, while info on a profile is no guarantee of accuracy, most people are going to change their profile info, and NOT some thread they posted to 3 years ago hahah.

I think the goal was to have people who wanted to participate list and comment on the Ts they have. Like the 'What did you name your T' thread it gives new (and old) keepers something to chat about if the choose to do so. I really doubt anyone is going to use this thread as a definitive listing of what Ts they have.

It kinda amuses me how these types of threads always receive comments by people who don't want to participate telling others why they shouldn't either. It's like having a group of people talking about the weather. Then someone, comes by, telling them what they are doing is silly because they could just look out a window to know what the weather is. The point is missed because it is being used as a social action and not for any higher purpose. People like to talk and it's easy for keepers to get a conversation going about what animals do you keep. It's the single most asked question I get when I'm walking around a T/reptile show and meet another keeper.

I have a lot of Ts and I rarely list them all anywhere. Other than my phone, I don't think I have a full list anywhere else.

It's kinda cool to see which Ts other people on here are keeping ATM.
