I am having trouble finding a place to get good feeders for my little sling. It is my only tarantula and is still quite small. I can go to a petsmart which has crickets all the time but I don't know if it might have others. If it doesn't, is there some online site that is not very expensive to buy from for just feeders? (also the reason why I don't want to buy the crickets are because one of them might have killed my other sling so I am kind of scared to use them again.)

I'm not sure where you live, but most exotic/ reptile pet stores should have a variety to choose from. You can also cut up prekilled crickets/ mealworms into smaller pieces that slings can scavenge on (which they will readily do- and there's no risk of the feeders harming them). There are also a few different websites like LLL Reptile where you can order feeder insects for a decent price.

If you have just the one sling, the easiest thing to do will be to purchase a cup of mealworms and keep them in the fridge. You can fish one out and feed it (or cut up pieces of it, if the sling is really tiny) as needed. The mealworms will last quite a while in the fridge because the cold will delay their development.

Do you have anyone in your area that has, or sells roaches? In my area, herein Colorado, there are 3 people on Craigslist that sell B. dubia roaches. One of them even sorts them by size.

Get a plastic container with a lid, add some egg crate, use bottle lids as water dish and feed trays...you can keep lots of roaches. With this setup you could keep them alive, use them and buy more as you need them. This would be like keeping crickets, but with out the worry of one killing your sling.

Buy a small tub of meal worms. Keep in the fridge. Cut up one and feed chunk to sling. Wait for molt. Repeat process.
