Since this the first time a T molted in my care i completely botched the molt measuring, i just mangled the molt so much i couldn't measureHow large is it? I've heard that they start to change color from 1.5"-1.75"
I know exactly what you mean haha mine is in very early stages of this awkward period. You can see it in the leg to body ratio too it's adorablei have one thats probably 2.5-3" and it has basically lost the sling coloring but hasn't really turned into the adult color yet. Kinda like an awkward Puberty stage or something.
The actual colors are more like an adult, but the overall a apearance isn't really the adult coloring yet. Hopefully you can make sense of that...
They start changing at around 2" and adult colouration kicks in at about 3" or so.

I really like that transitional phase, the moult after looks really rough but they're stunning once they pass that.Your pictures make much more sense than my words did. LOL. Mine is at abut the second picture down. Its nice to know i am only a couple more molts away from the adult look.![]()
Why you gotta jinx me like thatGood luck on getting a girl, because my luck with mine turned out male. But when it comes to arboreals IME, they tend to turn out male for me.
Wasn't trying to jynx you honestly. I'm just speaking from my experience. I hope you the best of luck, but it if turns out male, then I wouldn't be disappointed either. Because MM C. versicolor are always high in demand. Why you gotta jinx me like that![]()
Oh nice, at what size do i get to sex my sling?Wasn't trying to jynx you honestly. I'm just speaking from my experience. I hope you the best of luck, but it if turns out male, then I wouldn't be disappointed either. Because MM C. versicolor are always high in demand.
Yours is a bit to small to sex accurately, its going to be tricky to near impossible to ventral sex your versicolor right now. C. versicolor are very tricky to ventral sex until the 2.75''-3'' mark, which it becomes as easy to ventral sex as in night and day at that size. You can sex a molt, but C. versicolor are famous for tearing up their molts after molting. You're going to have to get the molt when its exactly done molting on spot, or hope the molt isn't ripped to shreds when you get it.Oh nice, at what size do i get to sex my sling?

Once she/he reaches around 1.75” - 2.5” mark should start seeing a color change. This is my freshly molted (hopefully) girl she's at her 5th instar and she looks gorgeous. I was just curious when can i expect some adult coloration out of her?
