What rarer species would you recommend?

Since my last post disappeared into the void let me try this again:

@sdsnybny I got a juvenile female Orphnacus philippinus! It came with an extra warning, though, to be very carefull because appearently it went directly on the attack when the vendor tried to get it into the transpost vial. I was prepared for anything when housing it but then, of course, it was completely uneventful.

I also got 3 Tapinauchenius sp. 'Caribbean Diamond' - and I caved and got two tiny 2i P. victori slings. I just couldn't help myself.

I've been thinking an 8x8x12 enclosure, but it may appreciate some extra space once it's an adult. Still on the fence, myself.

Due to the speed of the Tapi I've innovated a system of least disruption. Using one of those tall Ultra Pro display cases I soldered a few strategically placed holes to feed and water. So i *never* have to open that enclosure. So I don't have to mess with it much, and it appears much better off for it, its usually out and doesn't move much if I *do* have to open it up. So I can't say much about disposition, I rarely disturb it...

It's a good thing the expo is over for now... and no, I don't need any pet holes, but I think another Harpactira would be nice That dark one is gorgeous... (I passed on an O. aureotibialis, although I was tempted...)

@boina if you're able to get Thrixopelma sp cajamarca then for me that's the only true option. I have 2 in my collection an adult female and a small unsexed juvenile that i should be able to sex next moult. They grow a little like most Grammostola ( not actaeon or iheringi freaks) they sort of shoot to around 2" then start taking it easy , both mine behave like larger versions of E sp red so very chilled out and curious in nature. My advice get them it's that simple. They are stunning easy to care for with a brilliant temperament

Do they have the same basic care as the T.cyaneolum? Dry sub? Just double checking. My T.cajamarca is going to be here Thursday

I'm kicking around the idea of getting E olivacea as a sling. Jamie's tarantulas has them last I checked, probably will be my next one. I originally thought about the OBT & then researched them and found E olivacea as an alternative that is similar but far less popular.

Yes the care for these 2 is identical or at least that's the way with me. There really wasn't any information about when i got mine so as i already had other Thrixopelma in my collection i used them as a template

Ok great!! Thank you!!!! It really is hard to find information on them, there really is none! There are very few pictures, too! Especially the Cajamarca.

You're welcome.Yeah that's true for sure. There's little information on a few Thrixopelma as they have been sold as different species in the passed. There's probably a chance that some are still in the wrong genus( i hope not)
