What do y’all use for water dishes?

what the title says. I just have one T so she’s on display, but I’d like something that looks nice but also is functional. I currently have a cheap plastic reptile water dish but it spills whenever I fill it and place it in, and it also doesn’t hold too much.

I buy 8oz deli cups in bulk. Good for slings and make for great water dishes.

I hoard Gatorade caps, water bottle caps, etc. They work well for smaller spiders.

Monopoly houses can work for even smaller slings in vials. 15324637676409266943.jpg

I like gatorade caps for smaller specimens, mayo jar lids or anything of that nature is what I use for the most part with larger spiders.

You want something that has good surface area, is easy to clean and holds enough water so that your not changing/refreshing it constantly.

Heres a few examples.

I have two types of nice water dishes for my juveniles and adults.

Terrestrials (and Psalmopoeus since they hang out near the ground) get these silicone treat molds that I bought at Michaels. They have soft edges, so if a tarantula climbs and falls onto the dish, it doesn't risk injury by landing on a hard, narrow edge.

My Avicularia get these Command soap dishes. The mount sticks to glass, and you can lift and remove the dish for cleaning. (You just need to block the drainage hole in the bottom.) I like these dishes, because they are elevated, which Avics seem to be more likely to find, and they allow drinking from multiple positions.

Those are some pretty original water bowl ideas. I like the avic one especially. ;)

I use bottle caps (plastic ones), Gatorade lids, for my scorpions communal tank I have a rock water dish but found out its leaking somewhere so I'm gonna replace it with a peanut butter jar lid (those things work great too lol) if you use Dawn dish detergent, the piece that closes over the top has a small indent in it. You can cut it away from the cap and smooth it so there's no rough edges and use it for slings.

Thank y’all for the suggestions! I think I’m gonna use a peanut butter lid, I left it soaking in warm water and soap since I just came in to work and I’ll rinse it well when I’m home.

I wouldn’t use soap if it were to be used as a water dish, but that’s my personal opinion.

Imo those plastic colored water dishes just doesn't fit tarantula enclosure, looks like dog food bowl;P I like to make my enclosures nice and natural, bowl like this destroy the whole look. Good alternative is clear plastic, if you put it into substrate its almost invisible. If you don't care about the look, you can use everything that contains water and is clean. Some pics :

I also use disposable souffle/condiment cups also. Stack a few and sink them. They don't look good or bad -- sort of neutral design-wise.
So nice to just remove top cup when too dirty to refill. Fairly cheap when purchased by the sleeve.

For slings I use the caps from an 8 oz water bottle, a whole flat is pretty cheap plus that gives me a whole supply of tarantula only water, and the current bottle in use acts as a holder for my dropper.

For the larger t's, so far I've gotten little water dishes from various pet stores for a few bucks, but I think I'll be switching to souffle/smaller deli cups in the future.

For me, it really depends on sizes of the tarantula.

I use three different size tattoo ink cups, bottle caps, small plastic water dishes for slings, and I use deli cups, and glass water dishes for juvies.

I use whatever I happen to have laying around that is able to hold water. My current enclourse have; water bottle lids, lids from Pepsi bottles, Gatorade lids, the lids I got from the vials when I last ordered some T's, the cups the mealworm/superworms come in if you get them at pet stores, 2oz deli cups... Those kind of items

I'm all about condiment cups, deli cups, and tattoo ink pots. I always snag a little stack of cups when I go to a burger place.

EDIT: Although I really like @Ungoliant's water dishes. I've been nervous about the way my stirmi bangs around it's enclosure sometimes. The height is only a couple inches over it's DLS but I still cringe when it falls on the water dish.

Bottle caps and anything else that looks like it could be used as a water dish

I use anything that I seem suitable, I did buy those lizard water dishes from pet shops but they are expensive.

I've used peanut butter jar tops, milk tops etc...

Proper water bowls look better in a tank... lovely until cleaning time. Took me a year to go the disposable route. :(
Ts fill with dirt, poop in them, use as bolus cemeteries, add webbing to wick the water out, etc.. Don't really want to be T maid. Just.... yuck.
(depends on how much maintenance you want)
