Thank your Lucky Stars if indeed there are no nasties infecting Her.
Keep Her well and Keep us up to date, as She progresses.
May She have a good long life.
Best Regards,

Yes this is how it appears to me… I wonder if I should try to clean it or just let it run its course.

Here’s update pics from today
I am not sure there is really anything else that can be done.

Out of caution I would separate that one from the others.

its what i believe as well. But she doesnt think its worms. I didnt want to push it.

do you have experience with fungal infections in tarantula? Like ringworm? If its even possible? We have a member on the board who is having die offs

i included a snap shot of her situation. I hope she won’t mind. Its just since you seem to have experience with nematodes, im hoping you might have seen this too.
I guess the reason I don’t think it’s nematodes is because I’ve had her for 4 years & have read it is pretty rare to get them unless they were wild caught. But I am starting to wonder if maybe she just got bad luck from a feeder or something… :(

Keeping an eye on her will provide updates but it’s not looking any better today. She moved around a little the past 2 days but just went back by her water dish again.

There is definite yeast build up. I dont know what else can create yeast like this. I dont know how you treat something like that without knowing the cause. And if it is nematodes, then there is still no cure.

have crickets often died in your water bowl? Its really a question to get to the bottom of the source. No judgement. If it was through feeders, it cant be just “one” cricket. And nematodes can take a while.

i encourage you to sift through papers on nematodes to see what you can gather in there that might ring a bell for you. Within the four years.

how many tarantulas do you have?

She’s my only T.

Crickets have never died in the water bowl, but there was a circular cork thing that she webbed all across & crickets had fallen through holes in her web to the bottom substrate & died. Can’t say how long they’ve been there. I suspected that was possible which is why I rehoused her earlier this week when I noticed the mouth funkiness & alas, found a couple cricket corpses (not a ton maybe 2-3). They weren’t covered in anything (not sure if they would turn white or something?)

Is that a possible cause? Definitely too late now either way.

It’s been over a week since I noticed the white stuff. I swabbed her mouth on Friday & nothing came off. I also swabbed & put it in alcohol to look under the light for worms but didn’t see any (per recommendation I saw on reddit)

She isn’t near her water bowl anymore & her behavior doesn’t seem unusual, but her mouth still looks .. crusty .. & pretty much the same.

Will try to feed her again this week & see what happens.
