Not sure exactly how long, but I think roughly a month or so. Something changed and going into the sub forums loads to about 1/4 way on the loading bar then stops. Repeatedly. Same with threads.

One thing I have noticed is that when advertisements appear there is no issue. But when there is an issue there are no advertisements, possibly related to ad loading causing the loading issue?

It's gotten quite bad recently, almost impossible to use the website sometimes. One work around I found was open the link in a new tab. Then close the browser and reopen the program so it can load. This way works about half the time.

Android phone, chrome and Firefox.

Just an FYI to the admin as it's really quite bad now. to the point the website is almost unusable :(

there certainly have been longer loading times for a few months, on and off.
it has been a while since i experienced it.
i had always chalked it up to my own connection, but since there are seemingly multible unrelated reports even from very different regions it might be something different, \_(•-•)_/

yea, that worked for me too, i always made sure to have it loading in 2 or 3 different tabs and usually that allowed me to open the page

honestly compared to the ad spamming that is happening from time to time when using the phone, where one has to press the ads away 4-5 times in a row until the forum header can be accessed, it hasn't bothered me too much

Yeah, as I mentiomed in another post it happens quite regularly, in my case mostly based if it's before or after afternoon. Moving through pages during morning hours everything works fine, after a certain hour like 16:00 (4pm) quite slowly, regardless of the connection type or device.

Not sure if admins have figured it out. But ooticed something else possibly related to the loading

The maj forum index states ABC person posted yesterday. And entering the thread there are many more replies since then.

I took screenshot if admins want to see, just didn't want to waste bandwidth uploading them.

Sorry, typo. "Main forum index". It's going into the individual forums and threads where things go wonky :)

opening them all in new tabs, closing Firefox and restarting it usually works.

Ok cool. Will send some shots, can you PM me an email adress? Or do you prefer I upload here?

Recently the advertising that is full page no longer has a close option. Or an x, which is worrying and seems kind of phishy it would be allowed in various countries. After spending some time trying to figure out how to close the ads and view the website, it seems there are currently no "close" options available anymore.

Yet another workaround needed :( refreshing the page and hoping a new full page ad without the option to close doesn't appear. However I noticed when refreshing a page due to being locked in an advertisement, it stays on the page one was coming from, not the link that was pressed. Which tells us that the ads load first before the link clicked will load. Which makes it seem likely the reason the pages no longer load properly anymore is indeed due to the ads blocking the new link from opening.

if you press continue it acts the same as the (x) used to, same area too

but it is misleading or rather not clear if it would force you on the ad-page if you don't try it out

That's exactly why I think many people would never press "continue". or, at least they shouldnt given the amount of online fraud that exists today. same reason for not using random qr codes. Myself included. I think a lot of people would, rightfully, think that "continue" means continue onto the advertisers website. its standard to have an X, skip, close etc clear way of moving forward. I at least dont click random links without knowing where they go, so it seems like a pretty intentional disingenuous way of tricking people by Google. Not acceptable in my opinion.

I know that aspect isn't the boards here doing it, it's Google. But I assume the boards have a way to manage advertising as it's getting to a certain point it's just too annoying and difficult to use the forum without clicking into random webpages and getting jnes cokies and algorithms all messed up. ive tried to close the ads and gone to bra sites, german camping sites and etc. im a male that speaks english and manadarin haha.

Many forums have slowly died a slow death for similar issues :( I love this forum and the topics, but I'm not sure new members would all have the patience required to navigate around simply clicking a link to a discussion and needing to spend 5 minutes each time just to get in.

I wonder if other people have this issue on iPhone, computers etc? Or if Google ads are just a pain for Google operating systems hahaha

Edit. After posting this I pressed back to go to forum index. Got locked in another ad. Closed browser. Reopened browser. Still in the thread, not where pressing the back button should have directed. So it's for sure the ad coding that is blocking the loading of this site. And still no close option. Not even sure what this ad is about....what does Google think i am?
