We totally have the same spider taste, lol. My boyfriend got me a GBB for Christmas. I get to pick 2 from the order he just made. One will DEF be I. hirsutum. I then have to choose between p. irminia or cambridgei. I'll probably go with the irminia since the colors of the cambridgei and hirsutum are so similar. The size is much different though. I've had each of these at some point and they are all cool spiders.

As for my lugardi, I am sure she is dead by now. I got her as a mature female nearly 10 years ago and lost her (and all my spiders) in my divorce, lol. She was secretive during the day but VERY active at night. She constantly redid her enclosure. It would be totally different in the morning than when I went to bed. I started getting up in the middle of the night to catch her at it sometimes.

Yup I know about limits. Still trying to fix that. Finding a place I can afford AND is alright with spiders is tough. Almost wish I lived in Texas...almost. :wall:

I love my Psalmos. I think my cambridgei is more crazy than my irminias though (Well...except Pita the irminia..) and they're pigs! One of my irminias has picked up the cambridgei's habit it seems for feeding on the isopods.

The only reason my collection is limited right now is due to finances, but as soon as I get some extra $, Im treating myself too. Got my eye on a goregous juvie B.smithi right now.

haha good point ;) I have a few guy friends who are not only freaked out by my T's, but my snakes also {D

As for chosing between P.Irminia or P.Cambridgei I say get both! Why not its not like they cost an arm and a leg and so far both of mine are great, just molted as well.

I got lucky, my girl just rolls her eyes and tells me I'm weird. :)

Nice little list you've got goin' there! Definitely get both P. cambridgei and irminia... how is that even a debate? ;)

I agree that tarantulas are better than girlfriends (or boyfriends)... but finding a girlfriend or boyfriend that LIKES your tarantulas - or, even better, has some of their own! - now THAT is a good idea!

Haha, same with me! My boyfriend doesn't like most reptiles or inverts. He likes rodents instead, while my pets eat rodents.

Yeah , of all the girls ive dated , of which there have been a few , this is thefirst one to have any previous knowledge of hobby and the first one who actually may like my hobby of arachnid collecting/breeding/trading/ observing/ rearing even more than I do! Its really one of the reasons I knew it was meant to be ! plus shes smokin hot and digs my other quirks as well. for those of you who like spiders more , you really do need to join this new budding dating service that may just start from this thread! lol
IF your mate cant at least have an appreciation for your passion , why endure? plus , my collection of about 40 has expanded to about 70 since we started dating lol. I now need a arachnid room. Maybe limits are smart? lol

Awww......You're sweet, baby. Either that or you are humoring me because you know I post here, lol.

It truly is a rare thing for 2 arachnophiles to meet and start dating. The best part is, we didn't know about each other's hobby until we had been talking for a few weeks. I think it was our second actual date before it came up.

Also, I should add... when I had my big collection years ago, men were usually more frightened by the spiders than most women and children. One very large guy-friend was trying to video tape our T. blondi, which was in a closed enclosure. It took one step forward, he almost dropped the camera and ran out my front door.
