I love it when hungry slings do the inquisitive "hey, is that food over there?" walk where they wave their front legs in the air.

It's hard not to anthropomorphize when they're all 'hey, what's that, can I eat it?" *wander wander poke TACKLE*.

It's also funny when they're so excited about food that they can't sit still long enough to lure a cricket in, and you can almost feel how frustrated they are at having to chase the same thing around a billion times.

One of my 2 G. Iheringi juveniiles made me laugh a lot today. I opened the cage, to toss a roach in there. Well, opening it always make them to run into their hides. This time it stays still on its place and i think "Is he getting used to this??" When the giant god feeder hand gets near and shake so the roach get the heck out of my finger, the spider ran as fast as he could into the hide and i hear a TOCK! I start laughing, picturing it rubbing its head with its leg like "ouch, that hurts". Then he just comes out and stays with his head out (like, 2 seconds after ramming into the hide wall). I started laughing alone, it was just like it hit himself and was like "Ok, throw me an aspirin". LOL {D {D {D {D

Another one was my female L. Para. I tossed a relatively small adult roach in ther enclosure (she is about 6" - 7") and, as always she gets the food and runs into her hide to eat. As soon as she plant her fangs in the roach she runs. This time she jumped on the roach and ran, again. I looked again and the roach was still there. After 5 seconds the t come out, walking like a wanderer mature male, you know, just grabs the roach, turn around and gets into her home. Without stopping, she just came out, grab it and come in. I could hear she saying "One word and you're dead, i forgot the roach, i know damn it!!!" :D :D :D :D

I find personificating animals pretty funny! Perhaps i just read too many garfield comics...

About the funniest thing I have had happen, was when my B. angustum missed a cricket and got the water bowl instead. It then proceeded to carry the water bowl back to its hide. Until it tried eating and realized that wasn't going to work so it dropped it on the ground.

Another funny thing is my P. regalis sling will charge after me if I am messing around at all in its container, but yet it was afraid of the cricket I put in the tank with it today. That was until it realized it was food and then it proceeded to attack and eat the cricket.

The most recent thing one of my Ts did that made me laugh was...

My A. seemanni, Buttercup, grooms herself ALL the time. Like, all the time. None of my other Ts groom nearly as much as she does. So I was watching her groom last week, and she stopped in the middle of it, put her legs back down on the ground, then very deliberately lifted a back leg and scratched her butt for a few seconds!

Once her butt felt better (I guess), she resumed the front-leg grooming. :D

I have a T. pruriens that does the "Happy Dance" every time she gets a cricket. It is amazing and is wild to watch. There she is, dancing without music, and she never drops the cricket.
She is also a fussy groomer. One Saturday morning, she actually spent 45 minutes carefully grooming, starting with her fangs and face and finishing with her sparkling clean legs.

Man, I love these critters!!

Probably when my rosie pooped on me during a video interview with a newspaper...I was caught off guard and said "Oh, she pooped! That's never happened before!" Afterwards it really hit me and I started laughing.

Apparently, my A. Avic and a cricket are havin a slumber party tonight. They're sittin next to each other right now. And, the Avic hasnt once tried to get it. Guess I'll take the cricket out in the morning if its still there. But this is kinda goofy to watch right now.

Tug of war with paper? Do tell more about this.

Well, my G. aureo will chase anything that moves, and she'll grab paper with her fangs (and sometimes her feet!) when I stick it through the vent holes in the lid of her enclosure. She'll also chase it across the top if I run the paper across the plastic.

Yep, I think my avic is rather well-mannered. None of my other spiders do that. It will politely take the food from forceps too.

Some of them can be very sneaky when it comes to defecation, and will only poop in their burrow :wall:
