As most of us know, arachnids can sometimes be very entertaining. I thought it might be nice to have a thread about times your bugs have proven very entertaining and made you laugh or react in an emotional way.

Here's mine: About 2 weeks ago my adult female A. metallica molted to nearly 7". For about 10 days i was watching her to see how she looked, she had a rough molt last time around but semed to fix her bum foot with this molt. When I stuck my head in there a couple days ago wih a little flashlight to see if she was ready to eat I was presented with a little surprise. She was already eating! Apparently there was a male B dubia hiding in the cage somewhere. She'd just found and caught it and was hanging from her big plastic plant holding the still struggling roach in her fangs.

For some reason this struck me as hilarious. Here I was hemming and hawing, worrying whether she was ready to take prey yet and she'd just gone ahead and taken matters into her own hands. It's like we were thinking the same thing but she didn't want to wait. I was so pleased with her good judgement and take charge attitude that I gave her another nice, juicy softshell dubia the very next day. What a feast!

It doesn't sound as good now that I re-read the story but it really made me laugh at the time. {D {D {D

Cool story.

I had to laugh out loud once because I was bit by my little 1" B. albopilosum. Totally caught me off guard. I had just put a little cricket in his container. I decided I would touch the cricket to make it go toward the t. Well, evidently my t was getting ready to jump on the cricket and jumped on my finger instead. He hopped right off like, "what, I didn't do anything". It was so cute! That was a few years ago. That's the only time I've ever been bitten...knock on wood.

many times has this happened to me, once i was hold my versicolor and it shot poo on my belly...(i didnt have a shirt on) and i just busted out laughing because it was unexpected and like a water gun. then i had an obt get so mad for me cleaning its cage it literally played dead for 5 minutes(prolly had a stroke) haha...and that still makes me laugh to this day. another time my A avic caught a cricket in mid air that happened to jump off my hand right into the enclosure...then to top all that....this morning my 1/2 inch C. fasciatum threw me a threat pose! like it was such a big mean T .....haha it even showed me some tiny fangs

I just got some slings. Got bit by a fiesty little A. versicolor. My first bite and it's from a sling!

Also when I tried feeding my G. rosea mealworms and she tried to eat the dish they were in. One brushed her leg after awhile and she was like, "OH! I know what to do now!"

One of my 2" OBTs used to throw some pretty impressive threat postures. That, in itself, seemed funny to me since it was a rather small spider, but what would really give me a good laugh would be the times that it would rear back so far, that it would fall on its back and stay in its posture.

The T's I own haven't done anything along those lines (as of yet) but one of my Indian mantids decided to squirt me in the face with some "butt-juice" because I was watching it eating a cricket and holding it to my face.

I have snakes and geckos too, the geckos are both comedy gold. Falling over, head-butting the glass doors etc.

My first experience with teleporting sure made my wife laugh. I was wrangling a 3" P. irminia out of a shipping container, and in an eyeblink it was halfway up my arm.

Apparently, the yelp I let out would have made a girl scout proud......

I loved when my smaller tarantulas throw up threat displays and then proceed to body slam the dirt as if the shockwave might knock me over... lol

I don't know if anyone else does this, but I tend to personify my T's (or all animals for that sake) by giving them voices, or imaginary facial expressions. Yes, it's weird, but it makes me and my wife laugh ALL the time. For example, your pre-molt T tries to climb the aquarium glass but just slowly slides down to the substrate.... and just sits there and I can hear them say "don't look at me...." as they hang their "heads" in shame... hahaha! I laugh now thinking about it....

Am I crazy?

I once watched my rosea slam loudly "face" first into the tank wall in an attempt to pounce on a cricket.

My OBT sling is almost 1". And keeps givin me a threat pose. Sometimes I'll walk away to make it feel better. Other times i just sit and watch it, then after a while, it just says "screw you then". and just keeps on doing whatever it was doing. It doesnt sound funny. But, you just gota watch it happen.

Like was mentioned in another thread, I find it very humorous when one of my burrowing species hangs 4 or 6 little legs, and their head outside of the burrow.
