I read this morning TCS filed Chapter 11. While not the only source of boxes for our 8 legged friends, they were useful for racks too.
Hopefully they pull out of it.

Right before Christmas was a nice touch.

I haven't been able to find a decent sized amac box in the last two years. I quit trying. OOS in store and never available for shipping.

They are now some of my prized possessions 😂

I called the AMAC company and spoke to their Product Manager several yrs ago, great guy!!

I’ve talked to several PMs at the several major brands etc, it’s all worth it.

He had been trying to establish a Bug Box with a well known T dealer/breeder but s/he dropped ball. Maybe AMAC had a large min order maybe not. He wasn’t sure why dealer wasn’t interested.

I ordered directly from Amac and have a stash that will last me a few years. I also found someone selling some like new on eBay.

Funny I'm seeing this thread! I contacted AMAC 2 weeks ago, they linked me to this site where you can buy individual containers.

Colored Plastic Boxes : TAP Plastics

Biggest size is the 105, under options I would select Colored Plastic Boxes M105 and for the color dropdown I'd do "clear". Have not tried to order from here yet though!

TAP seems good if you want a few, since AMAC has a minimum order of 25 for their 105C box. To me that's ridiculous.

Makes sense too, the last time I been to The Container Store they really had no options for clear AMAC boxes.

I heard The Container Store filed bankruptcy. Unfortunately I never made it over to St.Louis, MO. to do a container run. Wish they opened a store on the Illinois side that was closer.

I am totaly all over the cheese puff containers. Those things are EXCELLENT. And depending on where you buy, cheap. Its really the perfect size and clear. The lid is also soft to opening.

people at work are giving them to me free because thats all they feed on with the current price of food.

I ordered directly from Amac and have a stash that will last me a few years. I also found someone selling some like new on eBay.
i better not see you selling them 100$ a pop on kijiji like the folks did with toilet paper during the covid prelaunch 🤣

im in Canada anyways. Container store doesnt work well for me with exchange rate and duty.

I personally don't like that style container, harder to maintain and looks ugly lol.

They are not the most estheticaly pleasing enclosure. I don’t mind it though. It was free and it is easy to modify.

Are you guys talking about this company?

That's a very nice design and pretty cheap prices! especially if not buying the made in China problem! Made in USA. Not a bad find!

Yes, we are! The company that normally has them is called "The Container Store" which filed a Chapter 11. They also have a limited supply of these AMAC boxes as of late. AMAC boxes are sold on their own website, but you need a minimum per order which is costly for some. TAP plastics sells them individually to those who only need a few.

Most stores are still open, including the one in Brentwood. Bankruptcy is a process, not an immediate cutoff. The original article estimated about 35 days, but it was finished a few days ago. They restructured and only had to close two stores.

I was waiting to see if they would liquidate some inventory before future proofing myself as I intend to HEAVILY use two of their containers for breeding and raising most fossorial species. Didn't see any price changes, so I guess the silver lining is they might continue producing the containers I use lol.

Just did phase one of the plan to future proof myself by doubling the enclosures I have today. Phase two will be to double again, but that will be in a few months lol. These aren't exactly cheap....

Protip: Order online and choose the store pickup option if doing something bulk like this. They keep A LOT of stuff in the back, I guess to prevent damage. There was only one of the cereal containers and two of the medium containers on the shelves, yet they wheeled out unopened cases to me for my same day order.

Nice, I need some enclosures I'll check it out.

Been trying to find that thread where you posted your methods with photos of your breeding setup. That's exactly what I want to do when I attempt a pairing. I thought I bookmarked it and I forgot to do so. Been trying to find it again.
