Crappy pics, but I was amazed to see my, um, hunting-challenged versi run down his tunnel, swing upside down and snag a cricket from under a leaf last night. He’s hanging upside down here about 1/2” off the substrate. Go Anansi!

Little A. Purpurea sling snagged the first meal in its new home after the rehouse yesterday. So glad it already started webbing up the place. 20230704_131311.jpg

Queen Catherine the Great Theraphosa blondi sling, first meal with us still won't give up the travel pot though 🙄 i was hoping the food would tempt her out but apparently not. 20230711_220711.jpg

0.1 A. Germani freshly rehoused after her most recent molt, and with her first meal in her new place. 20230719_221853.jpg 20230719_222823.jpg
Gotta get that tiny little post-molt abdomen plumped back up!

When the seller told me this wee one was already taking down 2 week old crickets, I was dubious. As that was the smallest I was able to get last night and she’d stuffed the last prekill I gave her in her tiny, tiny water dish, I thought I’d give it a try. I dropped it in and watched, tongs at the ready, in case I needed to quickly retrieve it. (S)he immediately jumped on this cricket and wrestled it down. Here shown dragging it up on top her hide, for all her kingdom below to see, lest they doubt her prowess.
