I did some searching through the forums and some people say not to get tarantula tattoos and some people choose to get them. I am going to try and find a tattoo artist that can capture the true beauty of the T but if they can't then I won't get a T tattoo. I don't want to be stuck with something I just like...I want to LOVE it!

Anyways, what do you think would be a good T to have tatted? A pokie of some sort, A. Versi, or B. Auratum? I have two of the three. I love pokies but can't own one yet. Versi's are awesome and I love mine. I love the color on adult B. Auratums. I was thinking if I get a pokie I can have it in some sort of threat pose or idk? I sstil have to think,.

Anyone want to share their T Tattoos? anyone have ideas for me?

This would be my first tattoo, if I get it.

I've seen a few pokie tats, most being metallica's. I've seen B. smithi's, and a G. pulchra, and a few others. If I had to pick a species on the spot for a tat that hasn't been done yet, atleast that I have seen...I would go with a P. irminia personally. Eventhough I haven't had the pleasure in owning one yet.

My suggestion would be to go for a stylized version. You can't capture the realistic beauty of a tarantula on human skin, plus tattoo color fades and lines get blurry. I would love a T tattoo, but I'll wait until I can design something I can live with for the rest of my life.

I have a half finished B. auratum. One of my friends has a versicolor on his neck and another friend has a P. subfusca on his arm.
There are three artists that I would reccomend in your area.

RJ at Black Anvil Tattoo in San Diego
Mike at Chronic Tattoo in Pacific Beach
Shakey At Ink Sanity in Lake Elsinore
I have had work done by all three and they are all amazing. Shakey is closest to you and I would reccomend checking out his work at the shop he works at.

Awesome thanks! I've been trying to find a tattoo artist in my area but I suck at researching things like that. I found some one from empire tattoo studios in Riverside but I have yet to go see the shop or talk to him. Always good to have more options though.

The idea of a tattoo will vary from person to person.
But honestly I don't see anything wrong with getting the beauty of nature tattooed on the skin, especially if it has meaning.
Personally a spider tattoo would look way better then these hello kitty zombie tattoos I've been seeing. But that's just my opinion.

I come from a family of artists and grew up in my mother shop, but that all fell apart when divorce came from her. Great artist indeed she was.
Her brother (my uncle) still tattoo's, and is outstanding at it. If you lived in Florida I'd recommend http://www.blackrosetattooshop.com/ where he works.
I'm having him start my half sleeve (which includes a couple T's in the design) when i visit family for thanksgiving.

Time for me to stop rambling and get to what I was going to say.
Choose your artist wisely, always ask for their portfolio cause each artist has a different style.
Make sure the shop is clean, and always ask about the inks & needles they use.
It's always good to talk and ask questions before rushing into something.

Hope that bit can help :)

I've been getting tattooed by the same guy for the last 10 years, I'm glad. That's soooo much work finding somebody who's clean, that dosent suck, that charges too much.

Personally, I would either choose my favorite or my first that got me into the hobby.

Yeah I want to get a versicolor since it was my first T and they are beautiful. I am going to try and find a really good artist. I have my fingers crossed because I really want this tattoo. I debated on other tattoos but I just don't want anything else as my first. I have other tattoos in mind that I've wanted for years but I want to start small (my others a little large that I have in mind).

Anyone have any good pics of adult versicolors that they want to share? I am probably going to take the pic and ask around tattoo shops if they think they can handle it lol

They're deffs some great artists out there... so that wont be such a huge dillemma... IMO id focus on the size of the Tat' and obviously which sp. lol

What about a B. smithi on the ankle? or a niice lil A.versi? If i were to get one id get 12" T. blondi on my back aha jk jk Realistically though: maybe Pokie on the hand?
just take your time with it and my advice would be dont make it too big aha because you never know you might want to cover it up in the future,,, Yet i doubt it

I don't think I would cover it up but you never know. I am thinking about an A. versi on my ankle actually. I think it would look pretty sweet. Or maybe have it look like it's crawling up my leg. idk. Something interesting. It's not going to be too big. I have to see about size.

I've had a p.Metallica done and the artist just used a stencil then filled with colour.
No lines as that would not look real.
Take a good photo and don't choose a front on look as you want shading so legs need to bend.
Then it will look like it's siting on you with the shading making it look 3D.

Size... go for life size then people won't laugh.
