alidpayne and ravenos.........i envy you guys' nerve.......i have had an adult male rosehair for about a year now and back in november i bought a female rosehair from petco and i still havent worked up the nerve to let them try and mate.......i havent seen any drumming or anything but the male has started eating almost regularly again (he had stopped eating and i figured he was a gonner) and i think i have seen the remnants of sperm webs in his hide.......who knows though.....maybe one of these days i will get the nerve to let 'em go at it....she is a terror though so im afraid of him getting munched........

I know what you mean, I recently lost my male B. vagans to a female finding him uber-tasty. It was very disappointing, but he was getting up there - it was a now or never sort of thing and I decided to take the chance, at least he died happy.

I was at my boyfriend's local petshop the other week and he knows the owner. They put together a pair of Chile Roses's and the male went at the female and had a damn good go. It was absolutely fascinating. I'll definately be breeding my T's when they mature.

I think as far as breeding any species of T, the males on average have a shorter life expectancy and hey, if she eats him and drops a nice "good" eggsac, then you have more males for the future. I'm not supporting in-breeding mind you, just my chime-in on the subject.

I got my rosies mating on video, it really is something to see them mate.
The male survived two separate rounds with the female and is still with me. He's eating good and going strong. Who knows maybe he'll get another chance to mate before the end.
