Nicely done with these images, my friend. Each and every time I have an opportunity to view you A. Diversipes, I question myself as to I still haven't spoiled myself with one as of yet. Know that if I were abroad, I'd definitely offer to purchase the Avicularia sp. "Columbia" and just allow you to pay me back whenever so you could experience caring for them. I honestly do hope that something is able to be done to appease your situation a bit more and you won't have to escape from the hobby altogether..

As always, take good care.

It's amazing the mix of colors on the diversipes, a candystore T!
8-legged-rainbows absolutely!

Nice pictures Jan! The collection is coming along nicely. Sorry to hear about your troubles, hopefully things will turn around for you! :)
Thanks, Chad. I hope so, too, but at the current state it'll be at least very hard to come out of this...

Thank you. And wow, you wouldn't have to do any of that sort, even if I'd live over there. We are all having our problems and mine are just considerably bigger currently - to be honest I can't really remember the last time I was free of problems (not talking about small things that all of us experience now and then). As for the A. diversipes - those are simply stunning and I'm hoping I can keep my animals as although I haven't yet bred any, I do want to take that next step and further the hobby. Not to mention that I hold them dear as I do look upon them as "pets" not just "stocK".

Uhm, sorry - first of all I'm in Germany and secondly I don't want to have to do any of the sort of selling my T's - as long as I can avoid it. So, no deal - apologies.

That sucks, Michael. I've sent you a PM back with some explanations btw.

"Nyx", Grammostola pulchripes, 6" female - she was telling me to leave her alone this time. As I said: Moody right from when I got her.
P1030665.JPG

"Saranyu", Tapinauchineus violaceus, ~4.25" female - had to redo her enclosure as she continuously turned over the waterdish and had once again too much mold growin in there for my liking

Two gorgeous spiders Jan! :D
Indeed they are. "Nyx" is quite the personality anyways - she can be calm as a lamb, but she also has her moods in which she basically threat-poses you out of the enclosure. The interesting part about that, is the fact that she doesn't really try to bite, she rather tries to "push" you away with her legs. It's pretty interesting. I've seen her maybe twice extend her fangs a little, but never completely, but I'm not risking it as she has nearly 1" long fangs :D. As for the Tappie girl - just wished she'd be out more often. I love that leathery look she has mixed with her coloration, but she's more secretive and way more nervous than my Psalms.

Ever planning to breed Nyx? Having a girlfriend from Baden-Württemberg, I travel to Germany fairly often so perhaps when my cca 5" pulchripes finally matures, we could arrange something, in case you're in a reachable distance along the A6 :D

I'm located in the north of Germany, nowhere near the A6 sadly. I might breed her at some point, yes. She's a very good looking specimen and calm as can be for the most part - so it would be a shame to not try and breed her in my opinion. She's 5.5 years old now and she still has some growing to do, too.

P1030687.JPG

"Kenno", Brachypelma boehmei, 2.5" male - apparently he kicked his butt clean, but is still not visibly in premolt...
P1030688.JPG

"Lyssa", Psalmopoeus langenbucheri, 2.5-2.75" unsexed - molted yesterday - IME the slowest growing Psalm I have so far (still miss a reduncus), looks beautiful though

So many nice pics! i'm sorry to be able to check the gallery properly with my computer only once in a while (pics on phone are terrible).
You will love the Hapalopus sp. "Gross"! they are good eaters and very brave considering their size! They will attack prey twice their body length if they have the chance {D

I am sorry for the crappy period you are going through...hope everything gets better soon :(

Can't resist the "cute fluffies" - although I'll admit that by now I'm starting to be a bit disappointed by my A. minatrix. I really, really like the species, it's just that they're seemingly more secretive than any other T I own so far...:D

It's fine. My RL sucks absolutely currently, so concentrating on the T's helps - takes my mind off the bad stuff. Not even sure when and if I'll recover once this whole stuff goes down...no idea.
The little H. sp "Colombia large" actually molted....

"Takhisis", Heterothele villosella, adult female ~2.5" - better shot at how messed up her legs are. If it wouldn't be for her webbing, she wouldn't be able to climb currently. Poor girl :(
P1030693.JPG

"Ares", Chilobrachys fimbriatus, suspect male ~2.5"+ - he finally molted and as suspected (I'm good with this apparently!) it's a male after checking the skin! Once again I find that somehow I seem to have a knack sexing T's...:D
P1030699.JPG

"Flavio", Psalmopoeus pulcher, MM ~4.75-5" - didn't have a chance to send him off so far, but he's doing fine. Not really eating much (as normal) but otherwise pretty mellow
P1030698.JPG

Unnamed, Hapalopus sp. "Colombia Large", 0.25" - the little one molted yesterday actually and is still extremely tiny ;)
P1030704.JPG

Unnamed, Hapalopus sp. "Colombia Large", 0.25" - a closer look reveals he/she starts gaining color already ;)

Also, apparently I made it again on "The Reptile Report" page in terms of T's (where Chad,Advan, Jason aso are the usual "customers"...lol) http://thereptilereport.com/rainbows-of-color/

It's stupid in a way, I'll admit it - but frankly the tarantulas I own are the -only- working distraction throughout the time this bullcrap has been going on in my life.
Not stupid at all. If it weren't for my tarantulas, I'd probably be going postal somewhere. They are extremely therapeutic. My kids know that when I am having T Therapy, I am not to be disturbed. :)

A shame about the Heterothele...but she will probably be okay in a molt or two. She's still just gorgeous and doesn't look unhappy at all. I have one that just molted too. I can't even SEE her with all the webbing! Now I feel I need to check and make sure her legs are okay. ;)

Something like that, yes. I kinda forget everything around me when taking care of my collection. That includes time sadly, too :D

My worry is that she seems having trouble to eat, too. She has gotten somewhat more skinny and while appearing to want the prey, she just can't get a hold of it. I tried tong-feeding her to help her, but she's too scared about that and she obviously totally ignores prekilled prey. Just hoping she'll recover and leaving her alone for the most time.

"Kenno", Brachypelma boehmei male, ~2.75"+ - finally molted on July 7th looking gorgeous
