I need ideas on DYI starter burrow/hide idea for a roughly 2 inch tarantula. I have always down the toilet paper roll thing route, but those are prone to molding, being flimsy once you accidentally get water on them, etc. I can't think of anything else for something so small. This is for a G. pulchra. Please give me any suggestions. Thank you!

For mine that size I just bought a cork bark round and cut it. I've used that same round for several enclosures. I just keep cutting pieces off of it.

You can achieve the same result by breaking a coffee cup and using a broken piece or half.....you can also use a piece of wood that's flat and simply open a starter hole in the middle.

Cardboard, plastic cups, cork bark, deli containers, even milk cartons...
Plastic can work pretty well, just cut it up to the right size.
Make sure it's food-grade though, anything used to package food is fine.
You can also find some stuff outside and sterilize it, or just buy some cork bark.

Cork bark is one of the best hides that i have used for my ts. I usually order bulk and cut them up but you can but larger pieces and cut them as well.
