Prisca (0.1 T. stirmi) was also very active today. I was able to get some neat shots of her massive fangs since at one point she was up against the glass. She's quite skittish and shy whenever I'm doing maintenance, but won't hesitate to take down larger prey. They are such beautiful animals and efficient predators. Now that temperatures are really warming up, she's getting hungry. View attachment 420973 View attachment 420974

Satsuma (0.1 C. huahini) is always very active. She's burrowed down to the bottom of the container and created an elaborate labyrinth of webbing above ground. Here she is enjoying a superworm! Very food motivated. Surprisingly, she's almost the opposite of a pet hole. Once it starts getting dark she is ALWAYS out, prowling around in search of food. Very entertaining to watch. Widowmaker (0.1 A. geniculata) and Esmeralda (0.1 T. pruriens) during rehousing today. Both of them are starting to get adult coloration! IMG_20220915_201749606_HDR~2.jpg IMG_20220915_202512178~2.jpg

Sterling graced me with her presence today. She's huge now. I measured her today and she's almost 7.5in DLS. Whenever she comes out I'm awestruck by what an incredible creature she is. AF P. regalis. IMG_20221204_174048586~2.jpg

Here's a better photo of Mowgli (1.0) P. ornata. I love the red setae and the vivid yellow coloration on his underside. He's a very handsome guy with a voracious appetite. I have a girlfriend waiting for him once he's mature. His sacmate, Kipling, will hopefully be sent off for breeding once he's ready and the weather is suitable. IMG_20221204_165130718~2.jpg

Beatrix (0.1 Pamphobeteus sp. mascara) juvenile happily munching on a juicy hornworm. Right after this photo was taken, she heard something rustle and lunged towards it even though she was still eating a big prey item. Talk about food motivated! IMG_20230121_184511197~2.jpg

Jasmine (0.1 P. ornata) doesn't usually come out during the day, so I jumped at the chance to get a photo. She has a hot date lined up for later this year once Mowgli matures. It's going to be a few months at least, since he has some growing to do and she needs to molt first. I'm always in awe of her beautiful colors. From the right angle it almost seems like she's glowing purple. IMG_20230128_133332371~2.jpg

Look who just woke up! Mari (A. chalcodes) just emerged from winter brumation a few days ago, ready for a meal. IMG_20230304_151739557~2.jpg

Managed to get an extremely rare photo of Jumanji (although hidden in her webbing), my subadult female S. calceatum. Sometimes I question if she even exists, but whenever I do catch a fleeting glimpse of her at night, it's a real treat! Even through the labyrinth of webbing that she's created, seeing her beautiful patterns and coloration leaves me awestruck. IMG_20230304_154625865~2.jpg
