Hello all!
I just got my very first tarantula yesterday. It is a 2 cm (legspan) G. Pulchra. I have some questions about her enclosure and since I'm a newbie I was hoping some more experienced people could answer my questions.
So here goes: My first question is relative to the enclosure size (picture below). Is it too big? My T so far has only been under the cork bark (you can see her black booty on the other picture
) and everytime I want to see if she is okay (I'm a very impatient person) I have to turn on a lantern and point at her. I'm afraid that, first, the food will be hard to find (I' haven´t fed her so I can't really tell you my experience with it), but more importantly, does she know she has water? I've placed a small water dish outside and wet the substrate near it but she didn't come out yet so I'm afraid she doesn't know she can drink from there. I have found another enclosure that is smaller and probably more appropriate to her size but I didn't really want to rehouse her again since she already made a burrow under the cork bark. Also, do you think that there is enough ventilation? I have only drilled the side and not the top.
So to sum up, do you think this is an adequate enclosure for a 2 cm sling?
Sorry if some of this questions are stupid but I really want to make sure everything is perfect for her.
Thank you very much for the attention!
