In time the permanence of this new life will be confirmed in the feline mind.
And you get to become a cat psychologist as the two of you work things out. :plot:

One aspect in the article, a thesis BTW, that was humorous, the mouse on the pillow phenomenon. A common lament of cat owners. One very common denominator was a human's bed as a major comfort zone. Catch the prey and take it to the comfort zone. Self explanatory.

Good thing there isn't really a mouse issue inside my place. Can't speak for the outside but my cat is indoor only so it doesn't matter.

Old, bad picture but this is Rey - was feral for about 7 years and just recently started letting us pet her and pick her up. (Left)

Miss Mia is about to demand to speak to a manager because I had the audacity to move slightly while she was trying to bathe.

Who's got two thumbs and spent three whole nights at the emergency vet hospital last week?

This girl.

Through some wild stroke of luck, she went from pretty much total kidney failure on Thursday to having one side working normally and her numbers almost back to normal range by Saturday morning. 🤞🤞 for good news at the follow-up tomorrow. We thought we were about to say goodbye...now we're thinking we might be able to manage this with diet. 🎢

You ain't lived until you've been sent to collections for cat surgeries.
Yeah, otoh I think my next snotty T-shirt is gonna say "I work hard so my cats can have better healthcare than I do (for less than one tenth the price)"

It'll be hard to fit. I think the parenthetical note has to be small print at the bottom...
