I got this P. Irminia sling from Jamie's Tarantulas about a month ago. It was .75" when I got him/her and has molted since then, so I think it's around 1" or so now! Here's a few pictures of him/her I took today. I'm hoping that his sling turns out to be a female. Female P. Irminia look amazing. Sorry my phone wouldn't focus properly >.<

Yes. Very beautiful T. I love Mine. Looks more like a female tho. Males are grey with small bodies, longer legs and tibial hooks

This T is not yet adult and since P. irminia are sexually dimorphic, that won't show before adulthood ;)

Well my Venezuelan suntiger just shed two nights ago, revealing quite a change in physical characteristics. Definitely a male rather than a female.

Hope you enjoyed!

Hi all, my young son and I were recently at the Long Island (NY) Reptile Show, and surprise if surprise LLL Reptiles ( from San Diego area) had a few tables. Our first few Ts was obtained from them and they are doing well. So I had no hesitation from going over to have a look at what they were offering. There were a few species that piqued my interest, but the one that caught my eye was a juv Ven. Sun Tiger. Really fiesty and active I had to have him. Here's a quick shot if it in his enclosure --

Very nice T's hopefully it's a female, you will love the colors once it matures.

Rehousing trick:

Set up new housing

Place old housing in new housing

Remove old housing when it moves out

That's how i do it

That's my intention w/my P irminia, just curious to see what other people do with challenging species.

One thing I have learned from another South African keeper, is to rehouse these speed demons on grass, he states that the grass is almost like "Kryptonite " to the T, I havent tried it myself, but maybe give it a shot.
