Poecilotheria subfusca

A few photos I took today of a juvenile female Poecilotheria subfusca.

this is not my pic it belongs to jon.....hey i have to ask what are those fang or hook looking things what exactly do they do....??? can they attack with them or just climb with them im really amazed...?? appreciate any answers on this topic

The claws are used to climb with on rough surfaces. The fans of setae radiating from the claws are the claw tufts, used together with the scopulae on tarsus and metatarsus to gain a good grip on slippery surfaces (like wet leaves, stones etc). They are of no use attack wise being too small. They are retractable just like a cat's claws ;-)
