they do seem to love it, and they do drink as i saw their chelicera open and bite down as soon as they touched it.
they have been 1st for around 3 and a half weeks and are just turning darker gradually as the days go on. our subfusca 1st instars took around 5 weeks from ewls to 2nd instar. these have been nearly 7 and a half! incubated at same temp/humidity.
thanks :)

I agree with Val. Yes they have a bad bite, but I think too pokies are overated. I believe it comes down to the Personality of the t. Like Val said my g rosea is more aggressive than my P.Ornata. even though I've never had a prob with my ornata, I'm still very cautious and I respect her and all my t's the Same.

:cool:Thought i would share my #1 from my personal collection.
Nice spider, can you share any other pics of it? Maybe full body shots, under different lighting ect..? Any other history on the spider , how old, how big , did it hatch with normal P. metallica's ect...?

Later, Tom

I can get some more pics of her later on today when i get off work. Hopefully she is out and acting picture friendly. I have been trying not to bother her as much since this is the first time she has been introduced to a male. but i have other pics of her inside my profile. Shes already pretty skitish but ill try bro. As far as info on the spider she is about 6.5 i length and the black in color vice the blue is a deformity so it came from a metallica sac. For more info my good friend Joe Rossi can help out. He knows the guy that was holding on to this prized pokie.

heres one of my females...she is on the dark side aswell...I love the way she looks...curious to see if she retains the "dark form" once she molts....I also think the dark coloration comes in, in more mature females, also when they are nearing the end of their current molt cycle...either way they look great...jus as nice as the blues...

Is there evidence of another "morph"(black)?? ...or is jus a color variation between individual sp. ...and depending on where they are in there molt cycle, and age??

Woops I goofed! Sorry, I see that as I upgraded a few of my flickr photos on my earlier post (2927) the result was several broken links. :8o I'll include them once more here along with the newer pics.
(Larger image sizes available on image hotlink.)

Those dark metallicas are stunning! Nicer than the bright blue ones IMHO ... ?

Gavin, I just can't get over the coloration of this girl! Judging by your handprints I'd guess she's smaller than the impression given by the photo, what's her LS? Wonderful shot, as usual!

Thank you :)

She isn't adult yet, only about ~3.5 inches in legspan. Very docile though, which apart from her sheer beauty is one reason why I have so many photos of her.
