went to lowes today and while I was there I checked to see if they had vermiculite and they did, I looked for peat moss and didnt see any. They did have this stuff called Orchid Moss 100% organic... Can I use that to mix with the vermiculite?
theres no petco in boone man, all we got is walmart and lowes, and its not even a super walmartjust go to petco and get the 3pack of cocofiber for 12$!
What they're selling as orchid moss is probably straight sphagnum moss, not peat moss. Sphagnum moss doesn't have the consistency you want as a substrate.went to lowes today and while I was there I checked to see if they had vermiculite and they did, I looked for peat moss and didnt see any. Look in their garden/horticulture section. They normally keep bags and bales of shredded coconut husk (look at the ingredients label) right next to the bags and bales of peat.theres no petco in boone man, all we got is walmart and lowes, and its not even a super walmart

Or go to an independent horticulture/gardening/landscaping supplier instead. Almost every burg of 5,000 people or more has at least one.
