So I got these new enclosures when I didn't need them? I will get a small cup and poke holes in it.
Eventually the tarantula will grow into it. It just means, in a few years you'll be ready. Or buy a fast grower that will be ready for that enclosure sooner.

It's perfect for when the sling outgrows the cup....your most certainly gonna need it at some point.
So I will house into a cup until it is ready for a new home. Thank you for your advice and knowledge

Is okay to still put moss and a small hide or should it only have substrate and water dish

I don't add anything.....a hide is unnecessary as it will adopt the whole cup as a burrow....you can add a small dish if you like, but I just dampen the substrate, letting dry out for brief periods....but a little dish is fine.

Moss is unnecessary

I would never house a NW terrestrial sling the way you have it set up....you are setting yourself up for a sling that will disappear so you can't monitor it, and this will lead directly to sporadic eating and slower growth.

I did a years long experiment with over 350 slings and 5 species and the results were undeniable.......a small cup will prevent the sling from burrowing away indefinitely, encourage prey interaction and therefore consistent feeding and faster growth, and not slightly faster growth, like 5-6 times faster.....in my experiment there was not a single outlier.....get a small cup, the sling will adopt the cup as it's burrow, this makes things easier for both you and the sling.
the cup that was shown for a NW terrestrial sling.... up to what size would that be appropriate? Like what size would you finally rehouse into let's say a 3 or 4in cube? THanks in advance.

Not till it starts to show adult colors....maybe 1.5-1.75"

Dannnng....lol. so cramped is better? I thought the slings did better with a hiding spot but you're saying the tinier cups ARE the hide?
Yes, they adopt the cup as the hide......I wouldn't call it cramped though, if it starts getting cramped where it can't move around, then you can upgrade....maybe from a 2oz to a 4-6oz, then onto a 16oz
