Opinion on first sling enclosure setup

So I got these new enclosures when I didn't need them? I will get a small cup and poke holes in it.

Eventually the tarantula will grow into it. It just means, in a few years you'll be ready. Or buy a fast grower that will be ready for that enclosure sooner.

It's perfect for when the sling outgrows the cup....your most certainly gonna need it at some point.

Is okay to still put moss and a small hide or should it only have substrate and water dish

I don't add anything.....a hide is unnecessary as it will adopt the whole cup as a burrow....you can add a small dish if you like, but I just dampen the substrate, letting dry out for brief periods....but a little dish is fine.
