oh long has your tarantula lived with out food?

stupid question probibly, but does anyone have any ideas as to why tarantulas fast? besides premolt?

sometimes if my t's refuse food i won't feed them for a month or so. doesn't seem to bother them, as long as their abdomen isn't shriveled they should be ok i'd think.

my g.rosea stopped eating for about 2 months and occasionally she just kills crickets and pushes them around with her front legs

My juvie G. pulchra male hasn't eaten in about a year. He has been in pre-moult all that time. He's still nice and plump and a total sweetie, nice and cheap to keep lol! It's the longest any of my spiders has been in pre-moult. He's only three inches or so and his last moult was April 2006.
