Skadiwolf,
I'd go with the pulchra. I have 2. Very calm GORGEOUS, especially right after a molt, and eats well. I tend to have more than one of something, when I really like it. I have 3 aureostriata. One, a juvie male, and 2 slings. I'm praying one of the slings is a female.
Peace,
Gillian

I bet Tuesday won't make it there nearly soon enough for you. Sounds like you've made some very good choices. And you'll just love your AGBs now as babies and even more as they start fitting the term "giant"

Comments on Docile Species

C. cyaneopubescens - tend to be too nervous and fast.
I have quite a few of these and they love to jump out of
their containers and escape at every given opportunity as
slings. As to my 3 incher, she hides whenever she can.

A. moderatum - tend to be very nervous and prone to
bite. I have one, but knowing what I read in the tarantula
books, I don't even TRY to handle it. :p

My favorite handling spider is my Nevada Brown.
(Aphonpelma iodium). Her name is Alex and she is the
most gentle creature I own. I fell in love with her when I
went to the pet store looking for a docile T of a different
species. They didn't have what I wanted, but when they
showed me how docile she was, I had to rescue her! The
guy and put her in his hand, closed it, and started gently
shaking it side to side. I thought it was too much torture
to put her through so she ended up coming home with me.
I trust her enough to allow kids to hold her and even a friend
who was arachnophobic. (She found out her sister had held
Alex a few days before and the sisterly competitive streak
kicked in where she decided "If Joy can do it, I can too!"

Another gentle spider if you don't already have on...is the
chaco golden stripe. (G. aureostriatum). I have a big 7
incher that has been handled a few times. Keep in mind
though, there is always the exception to the rule. ;)

YES, WE WILL! I'm printing this thread... I'm saving it forever. And when you post a new thread titled "Getting My 40th T, What Should I Buy?" I'm gonna remind you!!=D The addiction creeps up on you soooo sloooowly that you won't know what hit you! RIGHT EVERYONE?!

Plus, you probably have like 20 years left until YOU turn 40!!
Creeps up SLOWLY?!?!?!?

I know better than that! Within my first six months
in the hobby, I was over 60! ;)

Now once my husband ALMOST gets his wish, I'll
probably cut down to 50. (He really wanted me to
cut down to FIVE, but that's IMPOSSIBLE!!!) :)

well, when paul first suggested to wait until monday to send out the order, for the safety of the Ts, i was disappointed.

however, shortly after i realized that i would be EXTREMELY selfish if i put their little, precious lives at risk. so, i thought positively and realized it wasn't too long a time to wait anyway.

BUT NOW IT IS TAKING TOO LONG!!! :D

i want my Ts!!! -whine-

ah...tuesday...(sniffle) so...far. -sob- :8o

Hi

Hi :)

My 7 inch + G.aureostriatum has had a bad temper lately, close to orangey-bitey-thingey temper. Very pouty.
It's impressive when 7 inch T nearly throw itselves on it's back with all of the legs up in the air and fangs..:)

Either it is molt coming up or some kind of eggsac behavior, she's getting fat without eating a lot and doing real weird webs on the substrate.

Pulchra is a nice T, I have a pre-adult female and she's really awesome.
