New Baboon Pics ---

$12 at a pet store in the city.

Not an amazing selection, but alright. nothing special (crawshayi, pterinochilus sp., lividum, albopilosum, rosea, avicularia, smithi...)

anyways i talked the woman down from $18 to $12 (also bought a cage, hundreds of crickets and some substrate).

i'll get better pics once it gets used to its new home.

beautiful dusty grey.
gonna look beautiful next to my bright orange guys :)

back to feeding and setting up the new guy.

Vilken liten tjockis.

What kind of baboon is that? I'm afraid I don't know much about them , except that they can't possibly deserve to be called that.

You Da Man!

You da man at finding great deals Dave! That's one of my wish list spiders. I have a bright orange one, but want a grey/tan one and one of the mustard color ones as well. The selection you mentioned was pretty good at that store. No stores in my area have that wide a selection. Will look forward to seeing more pics.

As "plump" as that T is for an African, it would not be a long shot to suppose you might have landed yourself a gravid female for that $12.

haha you're right on Vys!

for those who don't converse in swedish, he said "what a little fatty" :)

and ja, det ar! (yes, it is!). It's a Pterinochilius sp. (at first look under the store lights, in the case, i thought it was a lugardi. I think its a murinus though.. i'm like 99.9% sure...)

and CM, i hope you're right -- I'd love if it was gravid, and we shall see..

i'll get some better pics once the T is all nice and cozy!

peace

Knock off the Swedish!!! My mother is 100% Swedish and I can't speak a WORD of it and I'm JEALOUS!

You are the BOLUS when it comes to finding a good deal my man! Mine was $14.99 and I thought I had stolen her! And... you probably got WAY more than one by the looks of that opisthoma. They are usually fit and trim little gals.... NEVER seen one that fat! (Of course, unless it belongs to Joy!)

Good luck with her, she's a honey!:D

Hey, great find, man :)
I had been looking for one of those as well, and finally snagged one from another vendor at one of the Reptile Expos. She looks exactly like yours, and is just as fat (if not fatter, if that's possible! lol).

Good luck with her, and post more pics :) I'll try to snap a couple pics of mine tonight, as well........

Very small selection of Ts, g. rosea, c. fasciatum $39.95 (I picked her up FOR FREE yesterday, designed a flyer for him!!!) the occasional h. lividium. But he's starting to stock more, I've been giving him the certified arachnodealers' price lists and bugging him about poor selection. I'll get him in shape soon!:D

she kind of webbed herself into a burrow...

i had a little make shift burrow in there for her (small bottle pushed deep into the substrate on a downwards slant, so you can only see the opening), and she took it over and webbed the front of it a bit.. i can still see her though. You can kind of see it in the pic...

i think she's still getting used to the new house :)

dave ---> is your sling eating yet, sean? think pre-molt buddy!
